Per Tesla Sales employee: Do NOT use your old Cybertruck reservation if you want the $1000 loyalty discount. Place a new order and request the $100 reservation refund afterwards. The system locks the promotions at the time of the original reservations. $1000 loyalty for the Cybertruck did not exist back then. (Since it wasn’t even available for purchase I assume)

I did, and my loyalty and my $100 were applied. My SA told me the opposite in fact. Told me to use my RN on the app so I didn't have to wait for the $100. I got an email thanking me for loyalty 5 minutes later. Oh whatever.

Interesting. I guess "your individual experience may vary". Good to talk to your local Tesla SA prior to placing order

I'm part of the Cybertruck/Scout Terra/Jeep Gladiator trifecta. Must be something unique about the styling of those vehicles some of us are after. Only owned the CT but the others were serious or potential contenders.

The Cybertruck won for me due to a few reasons.
Agree. I keep side-eyeing Rubicons as I need a vehicle I can tow light loads (whitewater raft + gear) to remote/rural locations (north of Stanley, ID, bottom of Grand Canyon at Diamond Creek Beach, etc.). Scout is a necessary bridge until chargers are ubiquitous in the boonies. Who knows when production will actually occur...

On February 20, Elon announced that the current deal would be available "only for the next 10 days", so Tesla apparently plans to change something by March 2. It could be the price, or it could be the features, or it could even be the availability of the trim itself. We don't know ... You have to wonder if it's the price ...
Now actually showing on the website that prices go back up.
OK I guess now we know -- and yes, it was the price. Although February 28 is only 8 days after Elon's announcement, not 10 days.

Tesla Cybertruck $59,990 Dual Motor AWD Cybertruck announced! (Estimated Delivery Date Now 2027!) feb28

Exactly. This confirms that the premium price was the #1 barrier to CT ownership.

Millions viewed the 2019 Cybertruck reveal and left a $100 deposit. They knew the production versions polarizing styling would be very close to the concept. Why didn’t they follow through? New MSRP’s that were 60% higher than anticipated.

Lots of commentary here dismissing the value of AWD/Beast air suspension. Everyone’s needs are different, but for me the air suspension is a game-changer, worth the whole price difference. The first is specific to my use, the other for everyone:

1) I have nine trailers parked behind my barn on what we call “trailer row.” All of the trailers are set up so that the hitch ball cup is about “medium” clearance level for the CT’s suspension. With no assistant my normal procedure is to drive the CT’s hitch under the trailer, switch to off-road mode and hit “extract”. The truck raises and picks up the trailer. I don’t have to crank the trailer jack at all. I simply put the truck in park, go back, complete the hitch lock, chain, and electrical connection, put the suspension back into medium height, and drive away. No other truck I’ve owned can do this.

2) As important for my 5’2” wife is the automatic Entry mode. Having a relatively tall vehicle with the ability to kneel for short drivers and passengers is priceless. You do not get this with the new model. It’s not a small deal. With this feature my wife does not miss having the deployable running boards that have been on our last eight Ford pickups - she much prefers being able to jump right in and out. In entry, it’s way lower than a minivan, not quite as low as a sedan, but easy entry - the only thing about it that she hates is that I sometimes forget to put the CT in Park when dropping her off, so the truck stays at medium height and she nearly falls when exiting - I try to remember, but when at a store curb, with traffic and pedestrians, it is sometimes tough to hit screen keystrokes fast enough.
this is the biggest item for me as well but after watching 2 video reviews of the RWD truck with same adaptive suspension i think i can live without the air suspension. of course i would prefer to have it but for 20k difference i can live without it.

another minor issue but after 4 year warranty the cost to service it will be fairly high. i watched an engineering video breakdown of the cybertruck suspension by Sandy Munro that detailed how wonderful it is but that long term it will be a costly item to repair.

Is there anything we need to do now to lock in FSD transfer? July/Sept/Oct - is a long way from the end of March when transfer is slated to end.

You're good as long as you place an order for a new Tesla by 3/31
