If asking CT or CB - CB is always the right answer.

The key is , if you are asking you are likely looking for something more. My op - if you can swing the CB - the answer is always YES. Despite all the posts ..... I was not swayed, even though there were no CB availbe to test drive I drove several 2026 CTs and thought they were fine, not especially fast (I own fast cars) but good enough for a big truck. Three days in and have been in beast mode for the duration until I switched out last night to gently park in my garage.

Headed out today -- on ramp in non best mode and it only took a second to realize my mistake. The difference in acceleration between the two is ridiculous.

My last Cybertruck demo drive was in the Cyberbeast. To me it was stupid fast to the point of being dangerous. if you don't know what you are doing you're going to get in trouble at some point.

You represent a certain demographic that has a need for straight line speed. I can only hope I'm a lot older than you because older folks tend to slow down a bit as they age. Not every stop light is a racing opportunity and I don't need or want to be the fastest thing on the road. I like the versatility, comfort and technology in the Cybertruck DM and that's why this old guy bought one. It's fast and powerful enough to do just about anything except drag race and that's fine with me.

I have the CB and standard mode is what I stay in most of the time when not using FSD. FSD is chill mode on mostly with a standard profile to avoid speeding too much. Don’t get me wrong, beast is nice, but that tire ware is ridicules.

Same for me, most of the time I'm in standard.. I just like knowing I can open the gates of hell at any time with the push of a button if I need to.

I drove the CB and yeah,, it's impressive, but my intent for a truck is to charge with my solar panel system, haul stuff and occasionally pull a trailer a hundred miles or so. Not into being an attention gainer, especially to the po-po.

Everyone's got their own use case for it (or not), its personal preference really so there's no wrong answer. Is the Beast necessary, no, not really as you don't get many opportunities to really use it to its full potential (legally) - did I have to have it and is it fun, absolutely. As for attention gainer, this one not so much, most people can't tell a beast from AWD and unless you're close enough you can't either, the logos are barely visible.

I could get onboard it if the motors were just bigger but the tri-motor tradeoffs make little sense to me in a truck. Pay extra to get FWD-bias and lose a mechanical rear locker? Nah brah.

Not to mention, I've only gone flat out from a dig in my M3P a handful of times because it audibly strains the hell out of the chassis and bushings.

FWD not issue. Torque vectoring.

Electronic rear locker does fine. Now if you are rock crawling every weekend, then you may have a (weak) point. Otherwise, torque vectoring is far more useful and practical for a big truck like ours.

And yes, I used to rock crawl with mechanical lockers.

My Foundation Beast is always in beast mode. When I preordered my wife asked if I really needed the Beast. I told her nobody “needs” it but for me it’s Beast or bust baby!!

Language is important and the way I worded my statement was intentional. There are so many threads where folks are asking should they. My thesis is if you are asking and the extra $ is noise then the answer is of course for the driving experience alone. You don’t have to keep it in beast mode but having the capability is where it’s at. Great thing about the ct is its myriad of use cases — adding 2.6 is an essential use case in my case.

For everyone else who is not or was not asking the question I’m sure the rwd or awd satisfy the use case. Those that ask wonder what could be….

I was with you up until here. Virtually no one can tell the difference between my Beast and your AWD. Any CT is an attention grabber. If that really mattered to you you should be scooping up a good deal on an F150 or a Sierra.

Correct.

I get where OP is coming from but they’re just isn’t one size fits all. Some people don’t want to go fast. 🤷🏾‍♂️ In a less enlightened era, we had a name for those kind of people …

Are you spotting or driving? Either way, this picture mostly depicts “rock staring.”
