I’m planning to have Tesla proactively replace mine once they are in stock. I charge at home (AC) 99% of the time. Of that, I’d guesstimate 50-70% of my charging is around 24a or less because I use Charge in Solar. When I need to charge quickly, I do charge at 48a, but only to 50%, then Charge on Solar takes over.

Mine is a November 2024 build.

If you don’t use AC charging ( 100% supercharger) it seems that you would never experience PCS failure. I would assume it’s related to how much the PCS is used. I.e. the more it’s used the more likely it is to fail. My Beast is almost always AC charged at home.
My Cyberbeast is an August 24 build. I regularly charge to 100% at 48A because I take weekend road trips. Tesla need to offer a scheduled charging feature, 100% on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. 80% on weekdays.

Charging breakdown:
Home charging: 70%
Supercharger: 30%

I have a Powershare backup panel.
My mileage is 24,811.
I still show a range of 300 miles when fully charged.
No PCS issues (yet).

You can do this from Tessie via an Automation.

I let my Tessie subscription expire. It was causing problems for me. I was having issues with it not locking on walk-away, issues with charging. I ended up removing their access and all my issues went away.

I'm getting really tired of having to sit at Superchargers. Luckily there are 3 locations here in town, but it's not fun either way. Unless you're on a roadtrip, Supercharging all the time is tiresome. I really would love to see them just give free supercharging to the PCS failure group for the rest of ownership 👀

Mine failed last Saturday while using the bed power outlets. Asked for service Sunday, today was the first response. AWD '24 first 7,000, and 30k miles. They first let me schedule july 6, but I just got another message that says they will let me know when the parts will be avail and I can schedule again. There were other things on my request, so maybe the split them up.

I didn't notice any reports that might help determine if using onboard AC power is a common thing for those who have failure. Mine failed while used bed power Saturday, with no issues prior to that.

Seems an odd coincidence.

They're both using the same PowerControlSystem module that converts DC to AC and vice versa. Charging or discharging via AC wears on the same module. Hopefully they go through an extensive engineering design change, rather than a quick bandaid rev changes.

I get it's the same module, but I don't follow that converting AC to DC is the same thing as converting DC to AC. Yes, same module, but is it really exactly the same thing? When charging with AC, it's AC in and DC out. When powering the AC outlets, it's DC in AC out. Aren't those two different things?

They are, but it's the same components doing the same things, just with slightly different timing.

I was with a few cybertrucks this weekend and one had the PCS failure.
The only error were related to AC charging and AC components being unavailable.
When he put the truck in gear it wouldn't go. He was completely unable to drive it. Had to have it towed from the spot.

Other internal components still worked (lights, AC, screen, etc).

This is the first I'd heard of this causing the vehicle be unable to drive at all.

Well, it finally happened to me. For the longest time, I thought I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have to deal with a failed PCS. Went out to my truck Sunday morning and realized it didn’t charge to 80%. I didn’t get any notice on the screen for PCS failure. Just the screen saying it can only be charged with 24 amps, not 48 amps. So, I should probably be happy that I can still charge even though it‘s at a tricke. However, looking at other posts that might not be the case for long. I put in a service request, but haven’t a peep from them on when they will be able to take care of me. Tesla really needs to resolve this and quickly. CyberTruck already has enough bad publicity, they really can’t have another one in the books.
Also be aware your AC bed outlets will likely fail also - it has been reported here as function provided by the PCS.
