I’ve noticed the same. People were laughing about the Cybertruck wiper setup. And now the same people will say it’s chic because Ferrari did it.
Uh huh.

Many manufacturers and reviewers always forget that Tesla and CyberTruck were the first ones to come out with many things that they coming out with. For example, the wiper. Second, the steer-b–wire and before someone tries to correct me, CyberTruck is the first one without a backup shaft. It is fully steer-by-wire system. Merc and Lexus are coming out with cars making it sound like they were the first ones in the market to do it. Another is the 48 volt system.
The lack of physical connection is not a merit though. I would absolutely prefer a vehicle with even a backup physical shaft connecting wheels. We have already seen examples of the steering going floppy because of some fault. I’ve been too long in the technology space to trust pure computers and electronics over a physical connection.

This is very true.

The Luce will go down as Ferrari’s iMac.

People who pay more than $600k expect more than an electric mustang with a challenger front end and some prancing ponies slapped on it.
Ferrari stock tanked after the reveal as I understand it.

Is that why you refuse to fly on commercial airliners? The lack of a physical connection makes it too dangerous?

This is a bit of a tired argument.

* Large jumbos are big enough that mechanical systems become really quite complex

* They are meticulously maintained and checked

* They are flown by professional pilots with extensive training

* The lack of physical feedback has played a part in at least one major crash

* They actually have a physical backup (albeit an awkward one)
