Got a new one to add...

"Don't want to hear myself fart"

Heard yesterday. My wife and I were leaving a grocery store parking lot and he walks right out in front of us (we were in the S Plaid and not the CT). I stop and motion for him to walk. He finally crosses in front of us and tells me that most Tesla drivers would have just ran him over. I tell him that's hard to believe.

He asks me how I like my Tesla and if it is fast. I tell him I love it and it has 1,020 HP and it is very fast. He tells me about his C8. I respond that they are great cars as well. He then says he thought about buying a Tesla but with his C8, he doesn't have to hear himself fart! I tell him that both my Tesla's have amazing sound systems as well as bio-defense mode hahaha

We tell each other to have a nice day and that was it. But that was the first fart FUD I had heard!

Nope. The media knows that Tesla gets clicks. Their FUD is all about greed and potentially being own by companies that are supported by fossil fuels. Also people don’t even read articles, they just react to thumbnails and headlines, which are purposely written to be clickbait. It’s sad.

Just ask the fudsters, if Tesla makes such terrible vehicles why is the Model Y the number one selling vehicle in the world? There are literally millions of Teslas on the road. Why would people continue to buy their cars if they weren’t any good?
honestly I have heard more about problems on this forum though, than in the media.

Yeah very few owners still. I really don’t care because I really enjoy my Cybertruck and spending lot less time reading about the Cybertruck.

Yet the Model Y is the largest selling car model of any fuel type worldwide. Smart people think for themselves.
Yet, when the most powerful politicians in the country have a problem with Tesla, Musk or EVs - it will negatively affect the company potentially to its demise.

We just have to remind our friends and everyone we meet that Tesla is not only an American company but it is the best car manufacturer in the World right now, the best product of all of them. Better than Toyota. Better than Mercedes. And we should be proud of this company.

Remind them Teslas are way more safe than anything else. The safety car features of my model 3 have prevented me from a couple car accidents.

That a sustainable future is good. We will run out of oil eventually, global warming destroying Earth or not. But we will run out of oil. It is not sustainable. Our economy has to slowly naturally shift to a sustainable energy source or the future may be like Mad Max.

Re "flooding" no one said, not even MSM, that flooding would be a decade away, though many have said we only have a decade to prevent the dominos from falling. It does seem like it is now too late. Even if we stopped all the anthropogenic CO2 now there's still going to be significant sea level rise by the end of the century. The negative feedback loops like the ice melt creating darker surfaces causing more infrared retention, causing more melting.

If you do follow Tesla, you must know even Musk acknowledges and is trying to prevent AGW.

I had 4 people come up to me in the last 2 days to warn me about the recall! I can't believe the MSM FUD worked so well :(

I tell them that the day before it was announced, there was a Ford recall for 500,000 vehicles that could CATCH FIRE. Had they heard of that? After they say no, I tell them that only 3,000 Cybertrucks were affected, and only 2 actually had the problem. They usually go "wow".

For anyone new to Tesla, this kind of stuff has been going on for years. I was just hoping it was finally fading away...
Had a lady tonight at Texas Roadhouse, IN A FORD…. Told her about her recall and “she knows”

She seemed really irritated when I rebutted it. Go figure.

The corporate media absolutely despises Elon so of course anything negative about Tesla is going to be amplified.

Add to that the relentless hit pieces on him... 60 Minutes apparently ran several over the span of a couple of months to the point that my boss even picked up on them... claiming that Tesla is finished in China because Chinese EVs are so much better than Teslas and Americans can't wait for those commie vehicles to arrive here.

It's all very tiring but when Elon bought X this was a predictable side effect.

I now have to give every person that talks to me about a recall a lecture. No, they are not taking my vehicle back. Around 400 vehicle recalls are done every year and last year 33 million plus vehicles had recalls. No one else cares about the 33 million vehicles that had recalls unless they were named Tesla or had the word EV with the car.

I had friends that mentioned recalls on our text thread about Tesla's. They now regret it. I send them almost daily recalls of other vehicles not named Tesla because they seemed so worried about car recalls. :p

Hahaha this is great!

I had a friend that would send me every article about a Tesla catching on fire... so I started sending him articles of his car (RAV4) on fire. He stopped after that. ?

EDIT: Just for fun I googled "rav4 fire" and found this recall notice: Toyota is recalling roughly 1.9 million RAV4 sport utility vehicles in the U.S. because the batteries can shift during sharp turns and potentially cause a fire.Dec 21, 2023

The FUD is not because of what Elon says, its mainly for two reasons:

  1. Tesla doesn't spend money advertising, so the MSM (that is generously paid by auto companies that advertise) will produce FUD to hurt Tesla
  2. The MSM is far left, "X/Elon" is center to center-right politically. "X/Elon" is also a "free speech" platform. MSM HATES and smears anyone/any company that isn't far Left like themselves. They HATE free speech, they want censorship, wokeness, political correctness. The Left is pure evil.
So, I doubt Elon will change X back into the P.O.S. platform it used to be, or that Tesla will start spending millions of dollars with MSM to advertise. The FUD will go on indefinitely....

Dan the Man from Michigan

Yeah I think this will always be a problem with Tesla until Musk shuts his piehole once in a while….??

EV hate is nothing new. Heck, I found all this FUD over 2 years ago:

  • EV manufacturing causes more carbon emissions than it will save.
  • Your EV is made in China, why do you hate America
  • They're so quiet that all pedestrians will be killed.
  • Air pollution from EV tire wear is 1000 times worse than ICE tailpipe emissions.
  • Our drinking water will be poisoned by discarded battery packs.
  • There is not enough lithium in the world, which is mined by starving children.
  • The electric fields will give you cancer.
  • The U.N. is going to confiscate my classic ICE car.
  • It takes 8 hours to charge, long trips are impossible.
  • You'll die of starvation in a traffic jam.
  • They will randomly drive you into a tree and kill you.
  • Charging in the rain will electrocute you.
  • Driving in the rain will electrocute you.
  • The grid can't handle EV charging.
  • There is nowhere to charge.
  • There are plenty of places to charge, but you'll be murdered.
  • They can be hacked, and you'll be murdered.
  • The chargers can be hacked, and explode your car, or take out the grid.
  • EVs are too slow. (lolwhut)
  • EVs are too fast to be safe. (ok maybe lool)
Ironicly, you're nearly right with all of them. I'm just glad you remembered all the ones I told you! :ROFLMAO:

here's another to add to the list:

EV's are too heavy and will collapse parking structures.

The above was circulating a while back. They were serious. (LOL!)
