I was deep in the woods earlier this week, and got a flat... No worries I figured, got a spare and all the stuff with me. Started jacking up the vehicle and it just wouldn't get high enough even with some block under the jack. I had a 4 ton hydraulic jack similar to the one Tesla supplies. Ended up digging to get the spare installed, but that prompted me to look for a better jack... I ended up ordering this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX6N9V3G which claims nearly 17" of total height when fully extended. And guess what ? It has insufficient height to get the wheels off the ground even on paved flat terrain. Did a second test with a 6 or so inch block, and then it worked.

So the lesson is test your gear to identify gaps and fix them before an emergency.

How you power?
So I plug into the 12v on my Ecoflow but you can get a power brick and plug into the vault plug. Let me see if I can find a link for one.

I’d probably try something like this if you don’t have a powerstation
https://a.co/d/0fUVsRF7
With the powerstation it goes up a few inches then trips. Then you reset it and go up a few more inches.

Yea i test mine every 6500 miles, yeaaaaaa for rotate.
Just to re-emphasize how lazy I am, that’s one of the things I use my Teslaref credits for. To pay Tesla service monkeys to do it.
I hate rotating tires in the Arizona heat.

If you have an awd, iv seen posts of 20k+ miles and hardly any treadwear difference.
Get yourself a tire guage and only rotate as needed imo.
Can't wait to get these babies mounted.

True. Mine is an AWD and I do use a gauge. They are surprisingly even wearing but I also have them rotate in my spare. I just hate doing it myself.
what are those? They look nice.

This one works and gets high enough if any of you are as lazy as I am

I run mine off my Ecoflow power station but you could just as easily get a power brick and plug it into the vault plug.
Here you go again, spending my money and putting me into a black site interrogation with my wife!
Just bought the cordless version that comes with a wrench as well! Thanks as love new gadgets!

Shit J. I didn’t even know there was a cordless version. Must be new. Please post if it works well height and power wise and I may actually get it myself.
safe to say we BOTH spend each others money and damage each others marriages. lol.
Wonder if I can find one that runs on my m18 batteries I use for just about everything else.

you should let the air out of the tire and test it on a flat. Some of those jacks are too tall when they are retracted. Chances are that you’ll be changing the tire when it’s flat so that would be a more realistic test.

Yeah, must be new as it looks pretty slick and I’ll definitely let you know how it works. In terms of spending, let me know when you finally pick up an RV! Haha

The only difference is that my wife makes Joan of Arc look like Mother Teresa! šŸ˜‚

I don’t know man. One of the reasons I married mine is that she is the most ferocious woman I’ve ever met. I’m not proposing we pit them against each other in a cage match to the pain but I suspect it would be a close one.

All you need is some blocks of wood (others have done it in a pinch with rocks).

Quote:
Steps:
Drive up tire on to a 4 inch rock
Put truck in extraction mode
Once it is 15 inches, slide the stud under the jack point of that tire..
Loosen lug nuts
go into service mode (see video)
Select individual suspension tire and deflate (see video)
Tire will rise and will lift off the rock, so remove it.
Replace tire
tighten lug nuts..
Go to service mode, inflate that one tire..
exit service mode
remove stud

If there’s a chance that we could market it and make a little money, I’m all in! šŸ˜‚

Jack height is specified in the listing. You can measure the rim to ground while inflated, and subtract that from 14" (very high suspension setting).
