OP’s concern is valid. I stopped paying attention to media when they started pulling threads from this forum and posting articles as if sky is falling. Same goes with some content creators. As @Woodrick said, it’s all click-bait game amplified with targeted ads. I’ll just have the EVs speak and market for themselves. Numbers don’t lie. People knowingly or unknowingly do! Tesla knows this. They don’t give a S**. People are welcome to interpret the numbers however they seem fit! My money is for the winner, and I believe that’s Tesla in the long run. Time will tell!

I love Tesla, own two of them and love them both. I'm also a realist and can see that even though the Model Y was (was being the operative word) the worlds best selling vehicle, the reality is that Tesla is offering price cuts, incentives, offers etc etc. I paid almost $8k off the old list price for my Model Y, plus the FSD transfer - those incentives aren't the actions of a demand constrained supplier. Neither is cutting back production, terrible sales numbers, production pauses or massive job cuts.
I'm not getting rid of my Tesla cars or stock, but its obvious that Tesla is making huge changes to stay profitable, which means demand has dramatically changed from this time last year.
I find it difficult to connect messages like "we will increase supercharger reliability" with chopping the entire staff - especially when the supercharger network is the golden egg that makes the cars worth it.
All that to say, its obvious sales are down, interest is down, folks want Tesla over others but still aren't buying Teslas either. Unplanned knee-jerk reactions from EM aren't improving things.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter to me whether Tesla or anyone else is making money off EV’s. I love them for my reason and could care less if no one else accepts them.

For some reason, some feel offended if an EV isn’t proclaimed the best thing since sliced bread.

Teslas ‘are’ the best thing since sliced bread, and ‘you’ think so.

Bloomberg said that there is indeed a weakness in Tesla and EV narket overall.

Her view, and you can dispute it all you want if you have better numbers and viewpoint, is that all those who likes EV and have money to buy one have already done so.

There are still those who want an EV but the price of current offerings are out of their price range.

And then Elon still has not made up his mind and everyone else will have to find a way ro make it cheaper.

The conundrum is that their current line at that lofty prices are already unprofitable. It will thus be a double vise making it cheaper -- which can happen with higher volume.

Tesla's sales are down, but they stuffed more cash under the mattress last quarter - increased it by over 20%.

They don't need to be cutting like this to stay profitable. They still have enviable margins, even while they're much reduced in this environment.

Please inform the Media Bias Machin that the statement should be
"Nobody wants to buy a NON-TESLA EV"... because the big manufacturers thought they could just replace the engine with a battery pack and "call it a day".

Well, if they have stock, they should cut prices until it hurts. But yes, new models are a way to differentiating downwards without much real difference.

We're getting off track... The original comment was basically just that its incorrect to say "nobody wants an EV" when clearly many do - but the narrative is more about non-tesla EV's which are losing ground (Ford, GM, etc)... Rivian perhaps a minor exception...

Take a look at Kia and Hundai.

The real statement is that Detroit can't change. And if you look at the detail, GM has been failing with their Ultium platform, but suposedly they may have turned the corner. Ford is having production issues and keep closing lines to fix.
And ll of that gets reported by Detroit as "No one wants EV" when the reality is they just can't build them.

We spent a week. Sintra was fun! Walking around Lisbon and Cascais for the rest of the time was honestly all else we did. Just fun to hop on the ferry and all the other transit and check out the museums (Gulbenkian, carriage) and enjoy as much of the fresh grilled seafood we could manage.
