My sister's Benz has Free charge but I want to have an outlet to charge my CT when visiting her. What parts do I need and considered good brand name to have one at her house about 10' from her main panel?

That's a good question! And sometimes brand is something that is sold and can be slapped on shoddy manufacture. It's the type of plastic the outlet is made from and if it has solid, thick contacts with strong spring action.

The wire and length is less important here; as long as you meet the heat dissipation baselines, you'll be okay.

Also, make sure you plug in while not drawing current. That moment it's not set right can screw things up for later while you're drawing full power.

I wish I had specific suggestions instead of vague advice.

Do not use the cheap $15 Leviton outlets from Home Depot. It could have burned down my house after using it to charge the CT. It's rated for 50amps, I only used it for 30amps and it burned up after months of use.

I bought the $50 Hubbell Lighting HBL9450A to replace it based on a recommendation.

Agree with Pops on this one. I did some research myself and Hubbell 9450A is what you want to go with. I recently installed it using 6 gauge wiring going to a 50A breaker. Of course this is if you are going NEMA 14-50 instead of Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector.
