I am in the same situation. It’s been over a month and no email or voucher. I can’t get a hold of anyone to inquire about the this issue. Did you actually talk to a live person that confirmed this? I can’t believe this is the customer service one gets after dropping $120+K on truck!!! Venting complete
I actually talked to a live person but they seemed confused. I think I messed things up when I got the quote from the electrical contractor. If you reject the quote the contractor needs to follow up with Tesla to notify them that you are not moving forward with PS as opposed to just outright rejecting the PS offer from day 1. Now I’m at the mercy of this company to get the credit initiated.

In my case I just talked to them twice on the phone and declined. This is so confusing. I will reach out to the installation company tomorrow and see what they have to say. Their processes are jacked up!

I'm glad that they are giving me an allowance instead of just the powershare equipment as after reading the print I am not going to be able to install powershare.
"

To be eligible for Powershare Home Backup, you must:

  • Take delivery of a Foundation Series vehicle
  • Own a single-family home or townhome compatible with Powershare Home Backup in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico)
  • Park on your property within 20 feet of your garage or electrical service (main) panel
  • Have an electric service (main) panel rating less than 225A
  • Have a Tesla Certified Installer in your area
  • Agree to the quote for installation provided by the Certified Installer"
My house has two 200 amp panels for 400 amp service so it looks like no powershare for me.
The Powerwall 3 manual says the maximum output is 200A but doesn't mention the limitation for connecting to less than 225A. Does anyone have a Powerwall connected to 400 amp service?

It looks like my only hope to power the house from my truck is to install Powerwall and hook the truck to that.
Kamin,

A solution that doesn't include a PowerWall is to use a V3 Gateway to back up only one of your two 200 amp distribution panels.

I have the same panel configuration as you, two 200 amp panels for 400 amp service, and I've set up a PowerShare installation with a Tesla-approved installer, Smart Charge America.

The scope of work for the installation explains how they will install it:

Scope of Work: Install TESLA 3V Backup Gateway ( SUPPLIED)
Scope of Work: Install TESLA UNIVERSAL Wall Connector ( SUPPLIED)
Install Tesla V3 Gateway between exterior meter can and ONE main panel (MAIN PANEL 2)(PARTIAL HOME BACKUP)
Relocate branch circuits (loads) between main panels + Tandem Breakers (14 Circuits)

Only the circuits in Main Panel 2 will be backed up. I provided the installer a list of circuits I wanted moved from Panel 1 to Panel 2 to be included in the backed up group, as well as a list of circuits to be moved from Panel 2 to Panel 1 (those in Panel 2 that don't need to be backed up), a total of 14 circuits.

Same. Rejected installation quote (ridiculous cost for a simple install for little benefit!). Want me some $700.

I just picked up my AWD cybertruck Friday 5/17/24 and seriously want to get my Powershare and charger installed. I am just using the 110 volt charging cable that came with the truck until then. Has anyone tried to add one bank of Powerwall 3 at the same time your Powershare and level 2 charger are installed? It seems that would be the cost effective time to get it. Picture of my truck just for fun.

Of note, is the rust on the center wheel hub common?

Currently the Powershare Gateway does not work nice with PW3. Says add later on website. Tesla told my installer that it would work, but would require special commissioning support direct from Tesla to disable the site controller on the 3V Powershare Gateway. They said it would be fine if I wanted to add PW3 later.

They recommended that if I wanted PW installed at same time to use either Gateway 2 or Gateway 3, or backup Switch instead of Powershare Gateway. Basically if you have a Powerwall and a charger it will work later this year.

Not sure if I can use the shop credit to purchase the other Gateway and another charger.

SO, I asked about Powerwall/Powershare compatibility and was told that the Powershare hardware that comes with the Foundation Series is *NOT* Powerwall compatible. If you you currently have Powerwall hardware, powershare will work over this system and no upgrades are required. But, the powershare hardware we are all supposed to be getting installed is not Powerwall compatible and will need to be replaced if you want to add that capability.

That's not true. Says right on PowerShare learn more:

Even after Powershare Gateway is installed, adding Powerwall upgrades you to an instant, seamless backup solution that can maximize the value of your energy system and ensure your home is prepared for severe weather events. Solar Roof and solar panels add the ability to generate your own electricity and further increase your independence from the grid and utility costs.

They did say that it would work now, but would require special commissioning support from Tesla to disable the site controller from PowerShare gateway. Will be easier in the future.

They also recommended that If I want PW3 at same time, to use Gateway 2/3 or BS. And again wait for that to be an approved configuration later this year.

What I don't understand is how do I even schedule a PowerShare install for my house? I got the survey that I am eligible, but nothing since. I have a VIN, but no delivery date yet for my Beast.

Can I get started getting quotes now, or do I need to wait for anything on Tesla's end?

That's the company that puts you in touch with an installer.

Ok I ended up doing that, and they gave me a quote for $4600 that I need to approve.

No where does it state Tesla will be providing the hardware or I will get a $4k install credit, so I'm not sure what to do. I emailed them and they don't reply either.

I feel like Tesla is jacking us on the charging and Powershare equipment + $4k credit because it's next to impossible to figure out how to redeem it

I looked up my junk email folder , there is an email from QMerit.com
Says complete your assessment, but there is no reference to any order number or anything, can be spam / independent seller. No idea.
Says welcome Cybertruck owner ! So weird ….
No credit reference or anything

I do not trust and think this is linked , thought ???

Legit. Tesla provides a link to them on PowerShare learn more page. They aren't installers, they just screen for eligibility and then provide contact to certified installers.

I also want the Powerwall 3. With the Powerwall you don't need the Gateway so I would love to get a discount on the Powerwall instead of $2,500 credit in the Tesla store.

You still need Gateway 2 or Gateway 3 or Backup switch. I think they are all cheaper than Powershare 3V Gateway.

Hope the $2,500 change is true. Feels more in line with those of us that already have all the gear for Powershare (wish my damn iPhone would stop autocorrecting to PowerShare) so we don’t get the included hardware.

“If your home is ineligible or you are not interested in installing Powershare Home Backup equipment, you may use the voucher for a single purchase in the Tesla Shop as an alternative.”

A ‘single’ purchase? So you need to burn the 2500 in a single transaction or that’s a single item?
You can combine multiple items into one purchase.

This is making so much more sense as we were promised that the PowerShare equipments would be included with Foundation Cybertrucks!

We got the survey done and was eligible way before delivery and VIN assignment then the installer came out and quoted the ridiculous ~ $5k for very simple install (we have pre-run wires and conduits)! So we rejected the installation and have not heard back since.

We took delivery of the AWD two weeks ago and it seems that the service center did not have any clue of what's going on, no ideas on when the redesigned wheel covers will be available and when I can expect to get the PowerShare credit! Hopefully all previous Foundation Cybertrucks will get this $2,500 voucher!

Just so everyone knows. You can buy an $18 adapter on amazon and plug the Nema 14-50 in rear truck bed, directly into a generator interlock to power your whole house manually. Save $4000.
Typpically its about $800 to install a generator interlock, or do it yourself (carefully)
