Got my invite to order on 5/29/24 as well. Placed my reservation (RN11328XXXX) in Feb 2020 and estimate I was about 500K in line per the spreadsheet. I'm in California.

I didn't sign up for a $100K truck, I signed up for a $50K truck. Tesla overpromised and underdelivered. I still may order once it drops to $80K unless the Aptera comes out first and is more compelling to me. (CT solar panels was one of the selling points that appealed to me, which of course would have raised the price even more, but now Aptera is promising an affordable solar car).
Try and find ANY truck for 50k that has the tech/features the CT has. It was ridiculous to expect that even 4 years ago, especially now. Maybe a Ranger Lariat with a minimal tech package but it's still a other category or two below certainly.

Elon set that "ridiculous" expectation. Not us.

Agreed. Smart to make as much as they can but it is a little disappointing that the "Limited" F series aren't as exclusive as they claimed to be. Here I felt lucky to be selected lol. Even if it needed to be towed 5 days after I got it and again the day the service shop gave it back to me.. I'll post about it soon. Suspecting it's a coolant leak issue.
If they only make 50k this year and 150k next year, was that not limited?

Foundation Series was originally supposed to only be 1000 Trucks. The rest were non FS. Now it seems they’re making many more FS.

Is there already a poll on this forum to ask what people are planning to do, such as:
  1. Already ordered/received my CT
  2. Planning to order when I get my invite
  3. Planning to wait until non-FS available
  4. Skipping altogether
  5. Still undecided
If enough people respond we could extrapolate to all 3M orders. Could be insightful.

As to all the 'bad reviews' and this FUD, I can only think that whoever suggests this is a fact is a avid reader of MSM.
Or they just come here and read about some of the issues actual owners have reported. Repeating the "it must be MSM" mantra to try and ignore real problems isn't helpful. I got my notice to configure a while ago, much sooner than expected since I always intended to let other people pay the early adopter tax and give Tesla time to work out most of the issues. Also waiting for standard dual motor.

Let’s be fair……..you can’t blame Elon for Government printing money and devaluing the dollar and putting us deeply into debt. That 40,000 truck is now 50,000, and that 80,000 truck is 100,000. I recommend buying it now before it gets worse.

Over the last four years, the cost of automobiles has seen a significant increase. According to data from Kelley Blue Book, the average transaction price for new cars was $47,433 in March 2024, which is down 0.2% year-over-year but up 0.5% since last month. This indicates a general upward trend in car prices over the past few years.

Specifically, the average price of a new car in 2020 was around $38,378. By 2024, this had risen to $47,281, representing a 19% increase. This increase is slightly higher than the cumulative inflation over the same period, which stood at 18.5%.

These figures suggest that the cost of automobiles has indeed increased over the last four years, with new car prices seeing a notable rise during this period.

Got my notice 5/30/24, and I reserved in June 2020. Really wasn’t expecting it this soon, which Is cool, however…

I reserved a tri-motor with 500mi+ at 69k.
I expected the price to raise but not the specs to drop so much.

A TRI motor with range extender starts at $116k with 440mi (real world will be less). And I lose a good chunk of bed space.

It’s not longer the bare minimum to replace my truck. I think it’s cool, but I’ll wait for original specs or buy a new f150 when needed, which ever comes first.

Original specs? Good luck. Subject to change.
