There is a very large gap when the tailgate is up, between the bed and the tailgate. You can see the ground below. The problem is, on a dusty road with the Tonneau cover closed, the dust comes up and onto the cargo in the truck. Also, it would be a great way for water to get in if fording a stream. Shouldn't there be a rubber seal running across that?

calibrate the cover under the secret service menu first and see if that fixes it

No, the OP is talking about the gap below the tailgate, where it meets the bed of the vault. He’s not referring to the tonneau cover on top. When the tailgate is up, you can see a slight gap and the ground below. I believe this is to help water drain runoff if there is water in the bed of the truck. OP makes a good point for other situations where water could get in instead. Maybe someone could specialize a seal for those needs.

@QuantumGlen, @Cybergirl had this exact same problem on a dusty trail. Not sure which post it was, but she tried putting cardboard back there and it helped. I think her final solution was a mat, but my memory could be wrong. I'd either find her post, or reach out to her.

I ended up using 1/2" caulking backer rod from Home Depot to seal the gap. It's made of foam. You can stuff it in the gap by hand or glue it to the edge of a 2" wide strip of wood, place wood strip so the backer rod is hanging over the rear edge of the vault floor, and close the gate. The backer rod gets pinched between the back edge of the vault and the bottom of the gate sealing the gap.

A picture of the problem, and pictures of peoples answers to the problem would be very helpful.

Gaps the same on my truck, it’s prob for drainage / dirt etc . Why do you want yours sealed?
As I indicated in the original post......go drive on a dusty gravel road (a lot of those in the Southwest)....whatever you have in the bed will become coated with dust coming up through that gap.

WTF....if you have a Cybertruck, you can see it for yourself. If you don't, it doesn't matter.
I agree... If you have a cybertruck it's obvious enough. All these remarks about needing a picture is excessive. I noticed the gap upon delivery and immediately knew that driving down any gravel roads would create a heck of a mess in the vault.

I'm not sure the bed needs this gap to drain... There are drains around the under bed storage as well as down by the compressor tank. Only with more water than those drains could handle would the gap at the tailgate be a drain
