So the people who were big fans of Tesla and put down a deposit on reveal night, nearly five years ago, should only have the option of paying over $100k for their truck or go to the back of the line. Meanwhile, people who decided to get a CT two plus years after the reveal should arbitrarily get to have the first opportunity to buy a more affordable option. An option which is closer to what was offered on reveal night, and which also may qualify for a $7500 federal tax rebate. Does that seem at all reasonable or fair?
Sucks but I don’t think the Tesla prioritizes fairness. You can see that and what they’ve done as a company. I think reasonable minds can disagree on where the line goes from here.

One could argue that the most recent reservation holders will be the most sticky since they have greater price transparency and are most able to buy. Who knows how many of the early reservation holders would top out at the original marketed price (very likely a great deal). Additionally, as unfair as you think it might be, initial reservation holders already had their chance for a cooler more “exclusive” vehicle.

It's difficult for me to fathom that anyone could believe such rubbish. It makes zero sense any way you parse it.

Obviously, when Tesla ends the Foundation Series shortly, they will move back to all the early reservation holders who wanted a regular truck, closer to reveal pricing, and declined the special Foundation Edition. You can whine and moan about how unfair Tesla is inherently all you want, but you just look silly to rational people who understand how Tesla operates.

And the proof will be when Tesla starts selling their latest and greatest product to people at the front of the reservation line. Will you admit you were wrong? The people who will be the most unhappy will be those who were getting close to being able to buy a Foundation Edition, but who must now wait for Tesla to go back through the reservation line selling non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks to early reservationists.

They have gone from 115xxx to 116xxx in a week. One more week and they may just send out the FS option to the rest of the list. The take rate is so low, that wouldn’t shock me that they send all the invite by 6/30. Then they switch it sometime in July/august, but I have no insider knowledge.. if Joe is correct, that is how I see it playing out
Yep mine popped last night

Curious what the take rate will be for these last few batches since they're the ones that should really take advantage of FS before they're forced to wait potentially 1-2 years to order again.
I'd think with the acceleration of the production and still hefty 80K price tag.... we won't be waiting too long.

I also wonder if there will be a time period where both are available....

So early reservation holders will start getting the option for non-FS.... but late reservation holders will still have the option for FS on their build page? And maybe with the non-FS and a longer delivery estimate?

Thank you. Lots of this lately it seems

It's actually the opposite. I'm a business owner who chose not to participate in the PPP program due to many uncertainties and unknowns at the time. My CPA was unsure about the eventual outcomes and potential repayment requirements in certain scenarios. Fortunately, my business was not affected during COVID. That being said, I am aware of many business owners who exploited the program, leading to a significant cost for taxpayers.

While the PPP was launched with good intentions, it was poorly designed. This is why I maintain my original argument: the funds should have been directly given to individuals who actually lost their jobs.
I agree. PPP was a scam for the wealthy small biz owner. Don't look up local biz if you don't wanna get angry. My son-in-laws employer walked away with $6M tax free.

My CT is 0118xx. I took delivery in NY Monday June 3. The guy at the dealer said it had been there for two weeks, but they never told me until Friday May 31.

My "problem" is that I have an unfilled (no VIN) foundation order in. I'm wondering how easy it will be to switch this to non-FS if I choose?
I asked. They won’t let you. If you cancel the Foundation you lose the $1k deposit and your RN number. I can 100% assure you this is what happens.

You get a different answer from different employees, but losing your $1k may be right, although I would just not buy another Tesla if they did that to me.

I hope you fired your CPA.

I cancelled my Foundation Cyberbeast a few days ago and I can 100% assure you this is what happens. I did get my initial $100 back quickly but lost the $1k deposit. I still have my 2nd RN number that I’ll keep. Hopefully I’ll get one with hub caps by then.

I agree with you. 80K is a lot for most people to spend on a truck. Besides, there are people in line who are not based in the US.
