Not exactly what Elon said at the investor event, but this seems to be the new verbiage for people getting invites now. This is not my invite, but I saw posted elsewhere.

Looks like the Non-FS wait will be longer than expected

Tesla Cybertruck Tesla order invite now says: “We expect to deliver only the foundation series through late 2024” IMG_4769

It looks like Tesla is going to squeeze the Foundation Series for all it's got!

Which is funny because there have been a lot of Tesla detractors, for a number of weeks now, saying Tesla is running out of demand for the Cybertruck at $100K. Maybe people are figuring out how much better this pickup is vs. legacy offerings at $70-$100K and more.

Not surprised either and no one knows what the non-foundation pricing is going to be. It says “estimate’’ on tesla.com.

After all this milking, I would be very surprised if they remove the $20k premium overnight on a brand new car.

I believe it will be a much more gradual reduction with charges for the various additions (AT tires/cyberwheels, white interior, and FSD supervised). Maybe a starting price for AWD of $86,990. Time will tell.

Maybe they just haven’t updated their email graphic/text. If I look at the recent RNs being invited to configure I never knew they even went that high before the Delivery Event. I know they went into the 12XXXX at the Delivery Event because I reserved 2 more (cancelled after getting my CT). But 117XXX is almost 5M above the starting numbers at 11274.

Take that very optimistic statement with a grain of salt. That's Tesla marketing department at work to help drum up last minute demand.

I predict we will see non-FS sales start before September 30th. Demand is dwindling for the $100k/$120k FS Cybertruck's.

Tesla milking the 20K uncharge out of as many people as they possibly can, breaking news at 11 this is a blatant sales tactic. The second the demand goes below a threshold they will drop the price

I can certainly understand why people are still ordering the foundation series. Recent invitees either buy now or will have to wait for at least a year for their number to come back up. Tesla may indeed run the entire reservation list for the FS.

"...Recent invitees either buy now or will have to wait for at least a year Three (3) Years (!) for their number.."

:p LOL... I fixed it for you!

This is not surprising and anyone who thought that FS is/was ending in 2024 is either dreaming or have not looked at the numbers of orders and production rate.

Cheers!

I get some people being frustrated by this but others seem angry or use "milking" like it's a bad or disingenuous thing. It's simple supply and demand. It's how our economy works. Like it or not. I think is if most people owned or ran the company and had the same data and details they'd do the same thing. Especially a public company beholden to shale for holders and investors. Why wouldn't they sell at a price they can get with demand more than they can produce for a long as they can. It's not going to hurt long term sales or demand when they move off foundation series. And yes demand and unknown economic factors will continue to set and drive price after foundation series ends. It will be what it will be, based on those factors. As I've said elsewhere, no one is holding a gun to anyone's he's making them but a CT or lay whatever Tesla is asking. Markets factors, and supply and demand, and other economic drivers shift and change over time and prices in turn do as well, this is not a unique Elon or Tesla phenomenon or diabolical scheme. It's our system and it applies all over the place. Tesla is not a charity, NGO, or not for profit organization.

I dont blame them at all, its their right to get as much as they can for a CT for as long as they can. And its my right to refuse to pay more than 72K after tax credit for a vehicle worth no more than that

Since we’re throwing opinions out for facts.. I imagine that cybertruck will be a low volume niche market. They’ll remove foundation logos and sell them for $100k.

Model X Is better in every way.
I think a lot of people who have owned both would disagree

since we are throwing opinions out as facts and all
