I'm not sure why this is surprising to anyone. They said they expect to start taking non foundation orders some time in Q3. So logically, they would still be delivering FS orders taken before that before the non-FS orders start being delivered. So if they take the last FS orders on 9/25 and start taking non-FS orders on 9/26, they aren't going to start delivering non-fs orders instantly. The will have a whole order bank of FS orders to deliver first.

I get some people being frustrated by this but others seem angry or use "milking" like it's a bad or disingenuous thing. It's simple supply and demand. It's how our economy works. Like it or not. I think is if most people owned or ran the company and had the same data and details they'd do the same thing. Especially a public company beholden to shale for holders and investors. Why wouldn't they sell at a price they can get with demand more than they can produce for a long as they can. It's not going to hurt long term sales or demand when they move off foundation series. And yes demand and unknown economic factors will continue to set and drive price after foundation series ends. It will be what it will be, based on those factors. As I've said elsewhere, no one is holding a gun to anyone's he's making them but a CT or lay whatever Tesla is asking. Markets factors, and supply and demand, and other economic drivers shift and change over time and prices in turn do as well, this is not a unique Elon or Tesla phenomenon or diabolical scheme. It's our system and it applies all over the place. Tesla is not a charity, NGO, or not for profit organization.
I appreciate your post as it is factual. Not that my post will in anyway contribute to the relevancy of the original post and for that I apologize. I however see fallacy within the CEO and corporation as a whole when, it was started as a company that wanted to improve humanity and wanted to do so with much lower cost models like the 3 to truly bring about changing the environment. Now it's just about impressing the venture capitalist and shareholders. Herein lies the reason the haters, the FUD, the etcetera exists. Just my humble opinion. Please carry-on.

Or the more money made, the more money to help humanity?

Reality check....I know everyine wants the regular CT to start shipping soon. Unfortunately, much has been read into what was actually said (incorrectly).

Elon said 2024 production was almost filled (earlier in the year) for FS. In this last meeting, he stated they expected to end FS Orders near Q3. That matches up, orders placed in May were showing Aug-Oct Deliveries for FS. The site has showed standard CTs with 2025 delivery. So, around the end of Q2, 2024 production/delivery will be completely booked with FS.

So, around the end of Q2, production through the end of 2024 will be fully booked (all FS) and Tesla will start taking non-FS orders for 2025 delivery. There is a slight chance some AWD regular CT versions mights be delivered at the very end of the year - or some FS delivered early January 2025.

Reglardless of how things are interpreted, it is what it is. No secrets, it has been in the open for months.

not surprising as more recent orders (2021, 2022) knew 2019 price estimates could not hold.
It's still way above inflation. We've hashed this over many times.

This is what we get from people saying they were so willing to overpay.

Food for thought… it would require over 6,000 calls/communications per day, or more (as well as followup deliberations) for the last 7months go thru the entire list of reservation holders to enquire their inrerest…

“over 2million reservation holders”…or so they say
First off, there are under a million holders, according to Elon. Which makes sense: We know of people who reserved up to fifty trucks each. So even if there are two million reservations, there's going to be less that in holders. And even Elon's count will overcount people who reserved under multiple emails either by accident or intention.

On top of that, the emails are exactly the same, and not everyone even got them - and it's not that hard to send out a million emails.

You think the model 3 didn't help bring about the CT? Or that an electric truck doesn't help humanity? The mission hasn't changed. I don't think anything has changed - you may however be.

Agreed. Some people forget that companies do in fact need to make money.
It's not that.

Tesla has 26 billion dollars sitting in the bank. It's making money hand over foot. It's making a higher profit margin on EVs than most ICE cars are sold at.

Make money? They're sitting on several times more money than they spent to make Tesla profitable in the first place.

26 billion is not a whole lot of money for a company like Tesla. Warren Buffett has 189 Billion sitting in CASH right now. He and many others have agreed to the giving pledge where most of that net worth goes to charity. I do not believe Elon has joined that bandwagon, he may in a similar way in the future and believes he is helping humanity through SpaceX and reducing emissions with electric vehicles.

The comment regarding the price is high due to many of us willing to overpay…. simple supply and demand it’s not overpaying when the demand is so high. There’s little to no alternatives for this product. It’s a different value proposition, is Louis Vuitton Empire a bunch of fools that overpay? Many believe so, or we can look at it as a different value proposition that most don’t and can’t align to.

FYI. Ordered 5/20.
Invite & ordered 5/24.
RN113xxxxx.. BUT..

today 6/30/24 got another invite for Wife, an order she placed only a few month's ago RN118xxxxx.

So they are about done with Foundation CT's,. I believe they now know how many FCTs are needed to finish... Allowing them to start regular CT.. After all there is not a lot to Change.. Basically 98 % same build.
Thoughts? Anyone with a higher RN #?

This does say "deliver", not order. I am not sure how far out they are from order to delivery right now, but my wait was 3.5 months. So if that holds, that is November right there if they open ordering non FS in July. So people may get the opportunity to start ordering non FS before long. Who know when the deliveries will start though. Guess we will see. It seems there are a lot of people waiting for the non FS version. People who didn't reserve early and are getting FS invites now will likely be waiting quite awhile before getting a non FS invite I suspect.

Since we’re throwing opinions out for facts.. I imagine that cybertruck will be a low volume niche market. They’ll remove foundation logos and sell them for $100k.

Model X Is better in every way.
I owned a Model X Plaid prior to my Beast and it does not compare in any single way, unless you prefer a mini van style vehicle vs a truck.

The Cybertruck is soooo much better.

Go get a Model X (or keep the one you may already have) and go post on the Model X forums about your dislike for the Cybertruck
