Nope, Don’t want a minivan or an SUV. Although I do like the R1T and thought about it before I ordered the CT. I like the Tesla software better and can’t get over how hideous the front of the Rivians look, those headlights make it look like Gumby.

This is basic economic principles at work. Learned in Highschool.

Demand is cratering.
There aren't that many people that can afford the truck.
Elon promised.
They have so much money, they can afford to (new one ?)

All these are ideas by the folks that just want it all to be true. They want the cheaper truck. I wouldn't sell something for cheaper if I didn't have to. Why would anyone?

What if the lower price doesn't translate to as many orders as one thinks? I have this feeling that most think that 4 or 5 times as many trucks would be bought at the lower price point. Orders would flow in like manna from the heavens. I think that idea is a fallacy.

I genuinely think Tesla has hit a demand wall without a dealership network. If more people were able to test a Tesla, then I think sales would increase. I know there's all sorts of pros and cons with dealerships, but if down the road Rivians are sold on VW lots and Telsa is only sold online, that genuinely may be the switch flipping moment where Tesla loses its lead position.

I see you post tons of messages all the time, it's crazy really, and you don't even have a Cybertruck and you're trying to tell me how the Model X compares when I've literally owned both

Please let us know when you get a Cybertruck so you can offer actual real world experience like I can.

I have also spent a good amount of time in every model of Tesla. I think they have been 4 for 5 in putting out something I'd want to own. The X missed the mark, it's the only Tesla I don't want in my garage.

Does anyone remember Model 3 ramp up and pricing dynamics?

My experience of ordering M3 in 2022 was that there was no Base $35K model and the cheapest option had "Premium" Interior "included" and non-optinonal, making total price $47K + destination fee.
I'm afraid that even when FS ends, CT still will not be available at $79,999 but will be CT+"Premium Interior" or whatever non-optional Premium package "included" still making CT $90-100K truck.
The only hope if Tesla wants to make it eligible for$7500 EV credit

100% this. Everyone thinks the end of non-FS will suddenly mean the CT will be $20k cheaper.

I get what you are saying.. but the costs of a dealership is dumb.. when the goal is to make affordable EVs, the dealership model with markups is anti-mission and not smart…
Finding ways to get butts in seats at the showrooms I could see making sense, but find me 2 out of 10 people that enjoyed their car buying experience through a dealership.. vs finding me people who loved the Tesla app and car buying experience

Posting a lot does not mean you get a call people trolls… I’ve seen it before from the same people. Not fair. For what it’s worth I believe your perspective is quite sound.

A lot of people are also very frustrated that they’ve been priced out his vehicle arguing long and hard that it would come out at the 2019 pricing.

A van is a utility vehicle. And comfy vehicles routinely go for more than 100k.

Even Elon can't prove you wrong because nobody can predict what the car market will be doing in the future. It will be priced to sell, that's all we know.

The $35K base Model 3 was available from the last month or two of 2018 into 2019. It was on-menu for a month or so, most of the time it was available, it was off-menu, meaning you had to contact your Delivery Center to order it. Even the people who ordered it for $35K got the premium interior and all-glass roof (which was supposed to be extra).

Now, years later, you can get a much better Model 3, quieter smoother, nicer driving, more features, with more range for only a few thousand more. Inflation adjusted it's probably $35K, or less.
