I hit a deer this evening on my way home. It was a small Deer maybe 50 lbs going 45 Mph.. Truck is still drivable but frunk and lower front plastic took a beating! Just one Month Old and made the first payment today ! Oh well things can be fixed but just hate it when things like this happen. The deer was dead on impact so that was semi positive as it wasn’t injured and in pain. Can’t wait to see how long this takes to get fixed! This could be the First Cybertruck Deer Hit ever!

You had no chance on that one. Bad luck. I’m sorry your truck got whacked.
That actually makes me feel better… I was paying attention and it was just out of the shadows and on me too fast for me to react… I think km a pretty good driver.. first deer hit for me.

will/can FSD prevent the encounter?
FSD still follows the laws of physics. If there isnt enough time to stop nothing can be done. There are videos out there showing FSDs reaction to animals is minimal. That might be a good thing for the drivers safety.

Here is a video of FSD applying the brakes, it might have saved the deer.

Was your truck drivable? I’m not taking mine to the shop until they have all parts in hand and ready to do the work! What was your estimate out of curiosity? Here’s a pic after I bar keeper friend the blood off the stainless!

Insurance couldn’t quote it as their system had no part costs and the body shop insisted on having to pull it apart to be able to accurately quote.

It was 100% drivable. The only issue was the frunk could not open without binding on the quarter panel.

$13k parts and labor ?

I am too scared to even try to open the frunk for fear it won’t shut again!!
