I have been hearing from prior comments that I have FUD, and I just got to thinking, I most certainly do. I did not realize that CT did not have FSD until the day I purchased it over sticker price. But still went through with the purchase because of the comment Mr. Musk made about it releasing in late June. I made a guess in a prior fourm that it would probably come out in 26 or 27, due to lack of data, but honestly I have no clue, as I have never even owned a Tesla before , let alone an electric vehicle. I just base my opinions off of google searches and past data. I am just kind of surprised that it does not seem like more people are pushing for the promised highlighted feature that we call FSD. I know if I promise one of my customers something and don't deliver, I would have to make it right. Does the same morals not apply with multi billion dollar companies? I mean that's the least that they can do is keep the promise of FSD especially since it is such an expensive vehicle, that has 3 + recalls already. What are your thoughts?

If you listen to the Tesla people (especially Musk), FSD/autonomy is not just something they can wave their magic wand and solve. It is a VERY COMPLEX problem to solve. Musk said the Cybertruck FSD was low on priority as there were less than 10k on the road at the time of comment, millions of Tesla cars on the road that were the [business] priority. They have been pumping out iterations fast now and 12.5 isn’t too far out.
I am about to receive my Cybertruck. Do I think it was bad business to ship it without FSD… well you could have waited and not bought the foundation. When FSD does come, and as it gets better and more autonomous (see 8/8 for their robotics update), the 8k and 6-8 month wait will be pittance. As musk said, Tesla as a car company is worth nothing. The money is in autonomy.

But I do get the frustration of them pushing it out without it being on… but again, know what you are getting into in your purchase. No one forced you to buy it.

I have owned Teslas and driven FSD before. I see how close it is to being absolutely game changing. I am here for the mission, so if I have to wait for a month or two, that’s fine!! Driving the truck will be a blast too!

FSD right now sucks and is unusable. It makes no difference if they delay it on the CT for another 6 months.

Not true. I use FSD daily on my other vehicle and rarely have to intervene. If you made this comment 1 year ago I would agree.

It was better a year ago. Ever since Elon switch to end to end NN it's been utterly unusable for me. Turns when it should go straight. Goes straight when it should turn. Cannot stay in its own lane. Etc, etc, etc.

And here I am using FSD daily.... I'd pay a good amount for the state it's in now, personally. It's a great feature and works well. Of course it's not perfect, but it sure takes a lot of stress out of driving which is value added to me

Odd FSD trial on my M3P, 200 ish Uber miles daily, did very good. Was bummed it would just pull in front of my house vs the actual driveway and when pulling into / under hotel lobby awnings it got a bit too close to their pottery. Aside from that flawless. Oh wait there was one road, 3 lanes, where the lines wasn’t quite painted right, if there wasn’t cars ahead to guide it, it wanted to jump into the middle lane. For that I blame the road markings tho.

would have purchased the FSD, but figured the 8k would be better spent for the down payment on my beast that comes with it.

That’s an interesting take. I do not have that experience

Unusable… that’s. A statement. I actually do agree that it isn’t as good as my driving and I decided not to renew it monthly…. Unusable is a ridiculous take..

Agree

To the OP:

Have you driven any tesla with fsd 12?

It is so beyond what any other company has. Blue cruise, super cruise etc etc etc. are no comparison. FSD isn't adaptive cruise control on steroids. In fact the TACC in the cybertruck is already as advanced if not more so than any other but super cruise and highest level of blue cruise.

Go watch whole mars catalogue on youtube do drives with fsd and you will understand why it takes time for fsd to be ready for the CT.

I wish it was already here but I understand why.

Musk is driven by what some would say illogical and unnecessary goals. Do we really need self driving cars? Do we really need to colonize mars? Life is okay without them. However, these goals are worth about 200 billion in wealth for him now. He deserves it too because FSD and Space X need to be right 100% of the time (Boeing Starliner....) so the risk is high. It has to be right before it's released.

I'm a vision guy. But probably not a NN guy now. Garbage in garbage out. Elon is training this on bad drivers. I'll take flawless C++ code instead.

Cool… I will probably trust them over you, but good luck. But maybe you are one of the top experts in code on the planet and I didn’t know, so you know how to solve all the outlier cases through code. If that’s the case, then maybe you are right. I also hear Waymo can solve autonomy with all their code and ā€˜dars … oh wait

As someone who’s only experience with fsd is from loaners while my truck is at the sc (multiple times unfortunately) I’m still 100% sold. Bluecruise isn’t even in the conversation. I’m ready for it but happy to wait as long as they can get me back on the road.
