Does anyone else have this problem? I just picked up my truck two days ago and drove on a very smooth asphalt road. When I hit a very small bump, I saw both of the wheel covers on the passenger side fly off and roll into a ditch. Now I'm thinking I can't leave these on because there are a ton of potholes even on the highway. How much of an issue is this? I can see that they should probably only be on the wheels on the highway apparently?

None of us have them yet. I saw on X where new cars on the lot have the covers, yet virtually none of the previously sold trucks have them. How do you guys feel about this? I am not happy about it myself. Unless my covers get shipped to me in the next week, I think it's pretty SH*TTY the way Tesla has handled this.

Judging by this original post, back to the drawing board..

You are one of the very few here who actually has wheel covers. The rest of us have been waiting for months.
When I picked up the truck Friday I saw in my rearview mirror one of the covers was looking like it was about to come off. I stopped and took it off. Put it back on to drive around this afternoon and had to hunt to find the two that came off. I'm not putting them back on probably until I can hear from others if they are having the same issue.

Unfortunate...

I suppose I could report this to Tesla too, but not sure what it would do. I just know I would hate for this to happen on the highway, definitely they would be lost for good.

Also it is kind of crappy that people who already have the truck don't have them I was talking to someone yesterday who's had the truck for a while and they still don't have the covers.

That's because the cyber covers are oversized the tire flexing will hit them. Just a bad design.

20" core covers > 25" cyber covers

Honestly I don’t even miss these, particularly since I installed my own hub/lug covers. I would like the improved aero for long trips, tho.

Definitely report it to Tesla. If this continues with on other trucks they need to know about it so they know there is a problem.

Judging by your pics it looks like the clips on the wheel covers actually broke? Also, did you try reinstalling the covers, like they do at minute 2:39 of the tutorial video?

Definitely report this to Telsa. If there is a problem with the new design, I would rather they start fixing it now, rather than spending the next several months rolling these out, only to then recall them again.

The first redesign involved the overall size and shape to keep it from rubbing the tire. Does anyone know if they even changed the mounting clips at all? I don't have either version, so I have no way to compare. The old version, while problematic for the rubbing issue, did not seem to have any trouble staying on.

I also wonder if it is possible that they were just not installed correctly on your truck. Like, maybe all of the clips were not engaged or something? Did you install them yourself, or did Tesla install them for you?
