Closed the tonneau and after completely closing it reopens about 6 inches or so. If I reopen it and do it again it does the same thing. If I do a manual calibration it will close completely and stay closed but if I remotely close it then it reopens. Tracks are clean, not out of line and this is intermittent. Any ideas?

No. I realize that you can and people do but with my luck I’d fall off and break a leg so I never have??

Mine was doing that after working perfectly for the week or so I had it. Couldn’t get calibrate on the screen. Could bump it closed by repeatedly pushing the button on the bed. Scheduled a service appointment for a month out. Decided to drive around town with the tonneau open. During that time calibrate showed up on the screen for the first time. Got home, selected calibrate, the tonneau cycled and ended up closed and has worked perfectly since then.
Cancelled service appointment. ?

Mine does the same thing if i press the button once to close. Even after re calibration it'll close all the way but then the next time I use it it goes to close then goes back up about 6 inches.

I've been able to get it working by just holding the close button down until its fully closed. If I hold the close button down it closes all the way and doesn't go back up.

I'm having the same issue. Have this on my list for my next service appointment.

I've been to service 3 times for this... they "adjusted something" and it worked once, then started doing it again, just like when I calibrated myself. Last time they told me it was fixed, it didn't even work there in front of them, but SC was closing... told me "We'll make another appt for you" which never happened, as usual, Tesla service sucks. Anyways, left side looks sluggish and when it does close it lags by 1/4" or so, guessing that's the problem, doubt it's a bad motor, probably more like bad alignment... Anyone have a DIY fix for this or know exactly what should be checked!?

Same issue.
I can get it closed if I drop the tailgate and gently pull the right edge (the side that is binding/ shorter) as it closes.

I’m having exact issue. Used service mode to re-calibrate and it works for a day or two, then problem recurs. Not worth a service appointment for this alone, but will mention next time I go for service for something else. I will tell them to please not *just* do the auto re-callibrate. I thought about hitting the track with a dry lube, but didn’t want to give Tesla a reason to say my fault.

I have done all of the above. It's annoying but not enough to take it in for service. When enough minor issues pile up I'll take it in and get the recalls taken care of. For now the easiest workaround is to ease it in slowly with the "quick presses on the close button" approach.

You need service. Schedule an appointment. For me, one motor was getting incorrect voltage causing this.

My tonneau was "adjusted" for this issue, but it still occurs periodically. Calibration fixes it for awhile.

Do you know how they determined this, and fixed it? Servicing the tonneau often requires significant disassembly, and I'd rather not have it done unless I'm fairly confidant of a successful repair.

Yes there’s a fix if you bump the truck into service mode and recalibrate. Easy and Tesla should tell us to do this before scheduling service appointments for a potentially 5min fix. There are other post on this in the forum And YouTube videos showing how to fix it.

Yes, they replaced the motor. I assume they used a voltage test device to determine the incorrect voltage issue.
