Have you driven the Cybertruck? For such a large vehicle it really doesn't drive like one. It rides and maneuvers like a car, but performs like a truck when you need it to.
Very, very few people have driven anything with rear-wheel steering and are completely unaware of what happens when driving a CT at low speeds like when parking. It will take years for these facts to be known by millions of non-CT owners for them to comprehend what we now take for granted. Elon was right about this.

We're preparing for our annual migration to Arizona for the winter, an 1850 mile trip. There's a lot of camping gear that we take back and forth. Except for bedding and personal things, the cabin is kept free so that we can fully recline the front seats for sleeping. Minimalists will be shocked at what we take on our adventure trips, but the days of primitive camping are long gone for us. I really love having the 55 cu ft of dry, secure cargo space that Cybertruck provides.

Loaded Vault.jpg

Here's what's in the vault (large items to small);

1) Westinghouse iGen4500 DF generator
2) Cybertruck spare tire (avoiding putting on top)
3) 55 quart refrigerator
4) 10' x 10' Crown Shades canopy, hold down weights, and side panels
5) Cabella's Camp Kitchen
6) BougeRV 2800 BTU air conditioner and ducting
7) Two folding lawn chairs
8) Round Starlink Antenna
9) 3 gallon water container
10) Coleman stove and 20 gal propane tank
11) Set of two traction boards
12) One large and one small bin of cooking/etc supplies
13) Wolfwise privacy tent and Ann Katy portable toilet
14) Folding step ladder
15) Air compressor and hydraulic jack
16) Tarps/ropes/stakes

I was hoping to get FSD before making the trip. With FSD we can complete the journey in two days, but without, two sleep stops are needed due to driving fatigue. It looks like this is going to be a three day trip. We always needed three days to make the trip when driving an ICEV (even with those amazing 10 minute gas station stops). ;) It never made sense to me to pay $100+ to stop at a motel for 8 hours, so we'll stop overnight at either rest stops or Walmart Supercenters that allow overnight parking. Bon voyage.
Where is your snowbird haven, PHX or Tucson? It would be great to have a show-n-tell for my wife! I'll buy lunch. We are north of Tucson.

Ahh, the annual flight of the snowbirds. This even happens here in Santa Cruz... I can tell because the grocery store starts getting smaller milk and salad deliveries so I gotta watch the package dates more closely.

Reminds me of growing up in a seaside town and watching them leave while the best weather of the year was about to arrive!

Heat advisory today.

Indeed. About half the people I have shown my truck to were surprised that there was a truck bed under the tonneau. I guess they thought it was a hatchback or van.
That's when I walk around back to hit the tonneau/tailgate buttons and watch their jaws hit the floor

I just took my one week-old beast from FL to CA. Several downpours, nice for everything in the bed to stay dry!

Great use of space! I find that the tonneau leaks slightly from the part where the edge touches the glass when the truck is parked and it rains. Does it leak much when your driving and it rains? Probably the motion prevents much water from entering the vault

My vault leaks between the tonneau/roof glass and onto the rear window, into the bed. I don't know how yours all stay dry. The joys of buying new cars site unseen and hoping you don't get a bunch of defects.

My tonneau leaked when I bought it. I did a 15 minute repair using no additional parts and now it's water tight.

I just took off that metal trim piece at the rear edge of the roof, saw that the foam strip had two gaps in it right where the water was leaking, pinched off some extra foam strip at the ends and pressed them into the two gaps. Then I tightened the trim piece back down and, no more leaks!

Same here.

A number of folks thought it was some kind of car with a huge hatchback, and were stunned when I opened the tonneau.
