Current Cybertruck model year: 2024 or 2025?

Do anyone know if the current cybertruck a 2024 or 2025 model? If it’s a 2024 model does that mean in January they will start selling 2025 model?

Automotive "model years" are comically misaligned from the actual calendar. It becomes 2025 whenever the hell they want it to.

That said, it looks like they're about to start producing '25s but I know of no hard confirmation.

When it comes to Cybertruck don't even worry about the model year. If anything the 2025s are all Non FS trucks which are lesser trim, especially in the CB.

IOW, you're not missing out on anything, it's just a label.

I guess you could go to your local service center and check the VIN numbers on the newly delivered Cybertrucks. The 10th digit is the model year. 2024 is R, so I assume when you see an S in the 10 digit, it will be a 2025.

Yep, all current Cybertrucks should have the last 8 digits as "RAnnnnnn", with R=2024, A=Austin, and the rest is the serial.

In fact, 2024 AWDs should all be:

7G2CEHEDxRAnnnnnn​

and CBs are:

7G2CEHEExRAnnnnnn​

differentiated by Digit 8, "Motor/Drive Unit" (and of course the x "Check Digit" 9).

Curiously, the first 3 digits for "Manufacturer" are unique to the Cybertruck and Semi.

The majority of Model 3 and Model Y inventory cars listed right now on tesla.com are 2025 VINs.

Select 2025 for the year. I was wrong on the majority, looks like it's only about 25%, but there's still tons of 2025s there.

When looking on tesla.com, they're already putting "2024" in small print for the older VINs.
