For the people suggesting camera relocation, don't think that would work, Autopilot might freak out even recalibrating it with such a huge position difference from where it should be

This is great! I would definitely get this even if I weren't off-roading.Yup, I did it. First in the world. This company Wilco Offroad makes the only one that actually works and fits with no modification.

Look upcan we see a few photos with the spare tire installed?
Yea think with it obscured the autopilot may not work. This is a great solutionfor a tire carrier but wondering when AP hits the CT if it will be usable with that kind of mount. For the people suggesting camera relocation, don't think that would work, Autopilot might freak out even recalibrating it with such a huge position difference from where it should be
Offset mounting also solves this issue. It looks like that puts your tow ball about one foot aftward. Just be aware that this will lower the allowable tongue weight and the maximum tow capacity. It also reduces responsiveness when backing the trailer and makes it incrementally less stable at higher speeds.
I think it might just clear both, some of the rear view would be showing tire though because it's wide angle.

Put the monitor directly in front of the steering wheel.Or put a witeless Chinese made one but you would have two monitors up front.
With water spray cleaning.next we'll need a camera relocation kit![]()
I will spooge something together to lower the tire to the level of the hitch (red circle) or even below, and this should free up the camera (mostly). A cardboard cut-out of the tire should identify the best location. A trailer will not work with the tire in this set-up, but if I am towing, I can put the spare on the trailer.Offset mounting also solves this issue.
This set up worked great, towing, no need to remive tire towing, bike racks, camera relocation, no kit needed to hitch area, has no effects on FSD or parking assist.I will spooge something together to lower the tire to the level of the hitch (red circle) or even below, and this should free up the camera (mostly). Hopefully some clever parts manufacturer will figure this solution out first so I can just buy one, rather than make one.
