I’m about to place an order for a Cybertruck. I’ve owned two EVs and no ICEVs for a few years now, so I understand what EV ownership entails, including long trip travel.

The question is not about owning an EV. Rather it’s about owning the Cybertruck. Does anyone have any regrets and would rather he hadn’t bought it. If so, could you list your reasons.

Thank you.
Absolutely no regrets, when I ordered it I was thinking just a short term investment.
Now , it has taken some of the thrill out of driving my Corvette ZO6.
I am most definitely a fan ?

No regrets. Also, overall feedback around me has been enjoyable - kids love it - you'll get a couple of idiots of course, but those people don't bother me, and they're window warriors.

I kind of regretted not because it's a bad product, but it's one that's doesn't really fit me. What I realized is that I like to sleep inside a car and would rather have a SUV like a Hummer EV or Rivian R1S. If I were to go back in time, I would buy a Rivian R1S instead. Now I'm going to wait for a Rivian R2 or a Lucid Gravity and then use that vehicle for camping. I'm kinda scared to camp in Mammoth this weekend in a tent. I wish the CT has a pass through so I could keep the heat on and sleep inside the vault.

No regrets at all, it's a fantastic vehicle. The Cybertruck is my first EV, so I had a bit of learning to do, but honestly it's spoiled me for other cars. Steer-by-wire is a game changer, it makes driving my wife's Honda CR-V feel ridiculous.

I have owned my truck since July and was very happy with every thing about it, until last week when we had the first serious snowfall in Colorado. The Colorado highway crews are very liberal in using Magnesium Chloride to keep the roads ice free. That is when the it got serious. The Mag. Chlo. left ugly brown spots all over the stainless steel body. Tesla recommend I use stainless cleaner or WD40 to remove the stains. Nothing worked, I was worn out from scrubbing and the spots were still there. I got a quote from a detailer to remove them for $1,500!! I signed up for this and will get a light plastic film for $4,000 all over the stainless body.
I have submitted my request to Tesla to cover this under there warranty program but have not heard back from them. STAY TUNED!!!

No regrets at all! It’s my first EV. I’ve owned pickups, Porsches, classic cars, sedans etc… the CT is probably my favorite, at least the most fun. Versatile, can carry five comfortably, use as pickup, go off road, grocery store and drives like a sports car! I love charging at home, saves money over driving my old pickup or Macan.

All other trucks seem so outdated and the same. When I look at all the knobs and gauges in a typical vehicle it seems so silly.

The FSD IS great for driving in traffic and highways. Not to good on curvy back roads

The only downsides are the attention it draws,( I’m kinda of introverted). The stainless steel and sharp edges take some getting used to. But actually stainless might be easier to maintain in the long run!
Owned since August, zero problems or quality issues..but only 2000 miles.

Not even had this for a week, only regret is the Price, but like I stated before all Trucks of exact trim levels are at least this cost now. Is only one of a hand full of 'New' vehicles I bought in my life but this thing is amazing. So quiet I can actually talk to my wife in a normal voice going down the highway :) .

Finding out it’s about 15% more expensive to travel with my CT than my 2014 gas 1500 GMC Sierra. I travelled to visit family for the holiday and expected the SCs to be less between 11pm and 4am, but found out that a lot of chargers don’t have on/off peak prices. $179 to drive ~780 miles (FS AWD with cover closed and light bar installed). My GMC would do it for about $148.

Connecticut here also! I agree with everything you've said here. The only thing that is unfortunate about owning this vehicle is that it makes all other vehicles feel ordinary and not appealing to me anymore. I just sold my 911 Turbo and I have another 911 that I am not driving anymore. Just want to get in the CB everyday now.

It also occurred to me that this is the most American made vehicle I have ever owned in my life!

This is one of the reasons I'm sticking with my Model Y for now. It's comfortable to sleep in for camping. It's great in any weather and I can stretch out in the back. Personally wouldn't want the Rivian or especially the Lucid but would like to see an SUV version of the Cybertruck.
