I have toyot AT111 295/55/22 I know of a few guys that have 35/12.5/22. nitto grapplers also no rub issues
Yes you can
Here is an overlay of the 295/65/20 vs 35/12.5/22 that some people have. The 295/65/20 are just a tad smaller. Will work. Also that site is one of the best tire calculators I’ve found if you want to use it

I don’t know that a 305/65/20 will fit. It maybe someone else can answer that. It would be really close To the control arm bolt and is a 1/2 bigger then the 35-12.5/22 I’ve seen on others
I don’t think it will
Personally

when i got my new beadlock wheels i went with a 305/70r18. they are at the shop now getting installed.
305/70/18 are about 3/4 (34.8) smaller then a 305/65/20 (35.6) and do fit. I know Tsportlines offers them but I still think a 305/65/20 is questionable

A lot of this depends on the wheels offset. I believe a larger tire on the stock A/T wheels with the large 58.5mm offset will rub. A 305/70/18 or 305/65/20 with an aftermarket wheel with a 0 or 18/20 offset may fit without any rubbing but not sure. Poke around on this site as there are several folks who’ve installed both.

Are you talking about using stock rims with covers?

The covers may not stay on if using stock rims. Right now my tires' PSI dropped to 44 PSI due to cold weather and it's already looking like the tires are very close to rubbing the wheel covers. I'd imagine fatter tires would definitely rub against the wheel covers.

if he’s using stock wheels with 295/65/20 I believe he would be sitting .39 (3/8) further in. If he goes 305/65/20 he sits in about 3/4 over stock so If he measures now from tire to control arm closest point then adds 3/8 for 295 OR 3/4 for 305 that’s where his new tire will sit
That all kind of hurt my head and I could be wrong and I do have a few Jack and diets in me so ya never no ?

That’s not how it works. 0 offset means the wheel mounting point is dead center in the wheel, so if it’s a 9inch wheel it would be mounted 4.5 inches from each side wall. A positive offset pushes the mounting point closer to the wheel face, moving the wheel into the wheel well. A negative offset pushes the mounting point away from the wheel face, moving the wheel away from the wheel well. The stock wheels are +58.5, meaning the mounting point is almost flush with the face of the wheel. Pretty obvious when you look at them. Method and fuel are common wheels and they typically come in a 0 or +18 or +20 offset. Meaning you’d push the wheel out somewhere between 58.5 and 40.5mm from the stock position. Here’s a visual from tirerack.

I’m not sure what what I said and what you said are different ? Bottom line is if he uses the stock wheels with the stock offset I’m correct. The tire will be 3/8
Closer to the arm and 3/4 for the 305
As you said “it’s pretty obvious I have +30 they stick out 1.5 “ over stock from the rims I have researched after market the most are using a +30

Makes sense. +58.5-30=+28.5mm. 28.5/10=2.85cm. 2.85cm/2.54=1.12 inches. If you have 305 tires that tire will add an additional 3/4” width over stock 285s, so 3/8ths on each side. Gets you to about 1.5 inches of poke over stock.
