Wanted to start a thread with the Good bad and Ugly of FSD 13.2.1 (or similar versions)

So far, mostly good for me… post your experiences…

Good:
- Turning and braking are much smoother than 12. This makes for a much more comfortable ride.
- The New FSD profiles are nice. I have only used “Hurry”, but it’s a lot closer to city driving than any previous FSD.
- Better natural aggressive driving. The Truck will move into fast lane, speed up, then move back over to get off exit Instead of slowing down and moving over behind a slower car. It also handled a very short highway on-ramp very well. It sped up quickly, merged without hesitation, and accelerated. I stopped letting it handle this on ramp in previous version
- Less hesitation before turning. Turns are executed faster
- I was waiting at a light for a left turn. And when the opposite light turned red, the FSD turned the wheel a bit, almost like it was “getting ready” to turn. It was cool.
- After a light turned green, my truck paused and waited for a car to cross that entered the intersection way too late. I would not have seen it and had to brake to let it pass.

Bad:
- It’s still a bit too cautious with unprotected left turns.
- Hurry still needs to be a bit more aggressive. Faster acceleration, slightly quicker movements.
- When making a left turn on a road divided by a raised median, it still felt a bit too close. But it didn’t hit it.

Ugly:
- Some guy flipped me the bird on my very first FSD drive. It wasn’t the driving, he apparently doesn’t like my taste in vehicles! ?
- Nothing else, but it’s early.

I’ll update more as I get more miles. Will be interested to hear what others have seen.

I agree with the unprotected lefts it waits too long most of the time. I had to hit the pedal a few times to get it going since someone was behind me.

I just did a drive at 5 pm and it still hates direct sunlight. It cried for help 3 times with the red steering wheel on screen. I guess that will be a problem for awhile.

My experience started off rough. I installed it last night and went for my first drive this morning and 5 minutes into it, got the red steering wheel with the takeover immediately alert. I also had no cell connectivity. I pulled over and did a reboot and everything has worked since then and it's been smoother and a nice improvement over 12.5.5.3. I'm really liking the profiles. It doesn't tailgate on the freeway like it did before and it seems to be centered in the lane much better. My disengagements have been due to incorrect Lane choice.

Pros-
-The ride has been smoother, accelerating and braking feels more natural.
- Left had turns no longer cause panic attacks.
- I like the choice of driving profiles but only have used Hurry.
-I like having the max speed adjustment on the right wheel with adjustable offset.

Con -
- When I engage FSD it turns the BAW to auto and it begins wiping a complete dry windshield, every time. Turning it back to off doesn’t seem to matter.

Overall I’m happy with it. Next time I’ll disengage it and do a report about the BAW turning on. Hopefully enough people report it so they can start working on fixing it in the next update.

My wipers come on for no reason and then come on at different intervals. I ended up turning the whole system off

The bad: What’s with constantly trying to change lanes, haha!!

On v12, if I cancelled an auto lane change, the CT would stop trying and stay in the lane.

With v13, it never stops. Chill, Standard, Hurry it’s all the same. I have to keep my finger hovering over the turn signal button the whole drive.

This isn’t navigating either, just plain FSD during rush hour traffic. Super frustrating.

V13 is pretty darn good for me. Does seem to be back to hugging the left side of the lane. I appreciate the smoother braking action. I haven't had any left turns yet that have been causing issues. It definitely feels more natural than previous versions.

On a two-lane country road I came up on a slower car and v13 put on the turn signal and went to pass the car. I disengaged because we were going around a corner and I could not tell if there were any cars coming at me. Perhaps a little aggressive with the passing.

I had the same experience with not connectivity and the car was driving like a demon. I had become so comfortable with version 12 that it really made me watch 13 like a hawk. I made an adjustment to my wifi profile and it seems to be behaving a bit better, but towards the end of the day yesterday it started to cross a divided road and hesitated and stopped with the nose sticking into the lane about 3 feet. Last night I took the family to a concert and it had zero problems.

Smoother behavior, but in some ways feels like a regression of skills as compared to 12.5.3.
- It is not point-to-point as advertised. Still needs to be on the road before it activates. Does not start from the parking spot, nor does it find one on its own without activating Auto Park.
- Switches to faster left lane right before it needs to exit on the right , which causes confusion on the road.
- Hesitates still on entering traffic from a parking lot, which again causes some confusion.
- The Max Speed menu is also confusing. Recommends 40% above limit. That seems like an easy way to get a ticket. Unless there is something that I am missing.

This is only after an hour of testing.

Overall does not seem to be a major step up from FSD 12.5. Maybe the next release.
