Likewise.

If what I've seen and heard about the 4860 + structural pack is even approximately true, the weight/ power density benefits will be huge.

There is a good chance the tri-motor Cybertruck is going to weigh less than the F150 Lightning with less than half the range. That would be a huge win.
Indeed. I spend too much time debating (I use the term loosely) with people on various platforms about EVs, Tesla etc. The usual roster of concerns, gotchas, biases are:

  • It takes too long to charge, they'll never compete with gas cars
  • Lithium batteries wear out too fast and you have to scrap the car which makes them less environmentally friendly than ICE vehicles
  • The CT is vaporware and will never be produced in it's current form
  • The range is too short, especially when towing
  • Elon Musk is a fraud and will be in jail in two years (seriously)
  • If we were serious we would be pursuing Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles
  • Tesla vehicles catch on fire a lot
  • CR says Tesla FSD is dangerous
  • EVs are expensive toys for the rich to virtue signal with
The 4680 based cars may help address many of those bullet points in a way that the mentally challenged people who perpetuate these ideas can understand.

Not saying it won't happen, but right now Tesla's magic formula seems to be making exactly the same car over and over. Since they make their own seats, that would add a lot more complexity (and cost)
Yeah I know. I might actually consider a nice aftermarket interior mod if there were good options. Although I don't care in the CT.

I want carpet and comfortable perforated, A/C seats. LOL

I get why some people want the rubber mats etc. but I won't off road that much.

Personally for something like the CT I'd like the floors to be fully covered in something long-lasting and washable like bed liner but then have removable carpet mats or rubber mats on top. Right now I have a vehicle with carpet that then has rubber mats on top. Every time I try to move the seats around the rubber mats just get stuck under the seats and cause things to get stopped up. But since the floor is covered with carpet it seems necessary to have the rubber mats because otherwise, the kid's detritus would be getting into the carpet almost everywhere.

You can put a nice carpet on top of a rubberized floor, pull it out and wash it every few weeks. The reverse doesn't work. No amount of rubber shielding to prevent that carpet underneath from collecting mud and crap for decades. One of the things I love about the Honda Element is that you can hose it out.

Here is the same original source but as reported to a different YouTuber. Note, the source does not say that the Model Y won’t be made in Texas this year. It simply says the CT is coming.
A different reporting from the same original source.

and thanks for letting me on the board.

As I've done in the past, here are some speculative rumors from accounts that I follow on social media, and for whatever reason, I feel have some credence.

Todays rumors for everyone wild speculation and consideration.

Feel free to believe these rumors, get excited about them, dismiss, criticize...whatever!

I thought it was, Never argue with stupid people. Someone watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Maybe that was one of Murphy's less famous laws.

Some might even be happy with a CT- as long as it isn't called that.
