As for the "split lightbar" lower lights, I think we've just never seen the fog lights on...
Sure we have on reveal night in the test ride videos.

Overall a more "vanny" look. Maybe they are looking at using the same platform for a SUV/Van after all? It's got the floor area for it, just have to pull the windscreen up a bit and square off the back.
Can you imagine if they announced an SUV and/ or van that would be launched on this platform at the same time. Heads would explode.

(Definitely not a prediction)

Love this video! We can now say for certain:
  • The truck is 6.2" shorter than the prototype
  • The door handles are gone.
  • It has 4 wheel steering.
  • The interior has an all white option
  • The 240VAC outlet in the back is 50A
  • I counted at least 6 cup holders
  • All motors are the new carbon wrapped induction motors
  • Head room 41.6 inches (front)
  • Leg room 41.6 inches (front)
  • Shoulder room 66.0 inches (front)

I just hope my production model isn't as blurry.

Well it would definitely flatten the competition. I'm not sure how a cybervan of cybersuv will go down with soccer mums, but cybermums should be fine with it. The point is that I think the cybervan will be directed at commercial and multi passenger use, not so much for private use. Although I'd love one, maybe even more than the cybretruck.

While I was on the roof the other day I was saying to my son that we should really just make our "own" van, either using the CT platform of from scratch. We'd have 4 years of so before we see a Tesla version. The whole thing about Aussie manufacturing essentially would be waiting for some product placement. We used to import Aussie built Oka's to Europe in the 90's which were a similar CT steel flat slabbed offroad van box design and build them out as expedition vehicles similar to this:

Actually a EV version would be fairly easy to realise.

Musk wants to replace all vehicles with EVs. So a minivan or sprinter style van for personal use is going to happen, likely from Tesla.

He did say a commercial/ multi-passenger van was high on his list of coming vehicles, but plans change. Also, a commercial/ multi-passenger van is only a stones throw from a van for private use, typically the only difference is seat layout and if there are windows.

Love the van in your post. I would love to see a van from the Cybertruck platform… lots of weird constraints though.

The thing I loved most about driving our Okas was that they were roo safe...the roos would simply go underneath. :)

You're right that technically its a stone throw away, but marketing wise I think the ladies and many men aren't into the cyber design enough yet. They will need more exposure to CT first. I think the CT captured all the design "extremists" so there won't be many left for the Cybervan.

Hmm, I see the interest in the Cybertruck being more driven by value than design.

If they I were to launch a sprinter style van with an EV platform I suspect it would be hugely popular if he value were there. It might not necessarily Cybertruck style design, might not make sense for the bigger sides like a van has.

With the Cybertruck Tesla gambled on whether people would accept a radical design if it was a good enough value. I think the Cybertruck demand has vindicated Teslas gamble.

That will certainly inform other designs, but the result might not be “cyber”, it might be something completely different.

Update:

Elon has confirmed that the side mirrors are removable by owner:

Bigfoot quality footage but it’s something new. You can side side mirrors and the rear wheels steering. Different than original prototype.
Bigfoot quality is right LOL
Thank you for posting though. We are all nuts looking at grainy video of a truck that probably won't be out for 2 more years....

Aside the mirrors and turning, I don't see anything different. Looks like optical illusion to me. Not enough detail to take measurements or see lights,

-Crissa
Agreed. It might be wishful thinking on my part but I'm not seeing a shorter front either.

My "vision" for cybervan was a front sliding door on either side for the driver that is big enough to get out of and unload the rear from behind the seat, and a back slide around double door.

I think there's enough room for both a cyber and a non-cyber Tesla van. The question is if the cyber design can impact the cost enough to add value to the customers. I need to start doing some more CAD work on a van variant! :)

I think people are missing the most important thing here.

This is the first of the Cybertruck Betas.

Also, the first Cybertruck built since the prototype model(s).

IMO more important than confirming or rejecting a couple details is that they actually have a beta on the road.
Not the first. That other grainy photos were the first.
This tailgate is different as was the one from the grainy photos.

Here it is with the mirrors folded in.
