I agree that gender is waaaaaay more complex and there is more to it than just M/F. But we are talking about a truck and something being expressed about that truck by some unknown persons. If you would prefer some other body part to be attached before anyone thinks the truck is female that is fine. But in the absence of more complete data, when a child is born (these days it’s actually back at the ultrasound) the doctor assumes the gender of the child based on body parts. In my experience, the ultrasound technician will look for a small appendage to declare male and the absence of such appendage as female. This truck is basically still in a gestational period so all we have to go on is what we see.

It often isn’t till much later (certainly after birth but also after they start showing preferences for things, or making self identifying statements) that the child will start to express that an actual gender starts to show up.

...That said… the fact that the truck had to be shipped *in* to Texas kind of skewers the most optimistic outcomes.

There were rumors a year ago that Tesla had already hired workers to operate a pilot assembly line in Fremont to make prototypes and quicken the transition to production in TX.

I think, most likely, we're going to hear stuff that'll make us ignore our families and lock ourselves in a room where we tape pictures and details on the wall, and scribble theories on a whiteboard for 2 days.

I think the chance of us getting a total good news bombshell is higher than getting bad news.

Do any current refreshed Model S owners have any feedback on the back screen?

I have two kids and I immediately thought it was useless vs. them each having their own tablets. They would have to agree on what to watch (gasp), would struggle to reach the controls, and would be limited on content. Plus they have to turn their heads to watch. Does it have headphone jacks (or bluetooth I suppose)? Just seems like tablets are way more practical and a back screen is only really useful for climate and other car controls.

Curious if any real life users have feedback?

Only thing I can say the console might offer a iPad for the kids couldn’t is perhaps family movie viewing during charging stops and controlling the climate settings for the back seat.

Both excellent points I know nothing about.

One thing, Tesla had at one point talked about making the car into a Wi-Fi hot-spot which would allow them to use the mapping on their tablet/ phone to look for food. Cameras are trickier!.

Or are you talking about choosing who you have sex with? As long as it’s a mutual decision, I don’t see much of a deal in the idea that you choose who to sleep with.
