When determining scale, comparing to additional available objects help confirm size.

Example, water could be used to determine the blue tape width which can be used as a scale in the overhead shot. If 5he measuring wheel is identified, the wheel size can also be used as a scale with th unconfirmed shoe size of that hungry guy can rule out some wheel widths.

Or, we can wait for the final specs to be released.

"Jeez, come on"? You should be frustrated with the reality of the universe we live in, not me for explaining it to you. That pic is a little better, and as you see your 6'6" measurement no longer reaches the B pillar, but the rear headrest. Essentially the rear of the truck has "grown" by more than a foot. This is because of perspective. In both pictures you have used, the camera is located down and to the left of the vehicle. That makes the portion of the truck closest to the photographer larger when measured in a plane. The effect was especially dramatic in the first, where the front half of the vehicle was nearly twice as long as the rear in your measurements.

The photographer is lower in this second photo, but still above and to the left, yet you are still applying two dimensional measurements to a 3D object. It's more accurate, but still not accurate. This should be obvious in how the rear tire is "smaller", and how the 5'3" left line fits in the box at the top, but nearly hits the door window at the bottom. As you move from left to right and bottom to top, the vehicle essentially "shrinks" from its real-world size.
You are correct, the vehicle shrinks left to right, that's why I left tire measurements to indicate that it's not changing by a considerable amount. My point is that I don't see how 6.5' is possible based on what I see... But I would love to be wrong. It appears to me that the cabin space didn't change much from the original design, but everything outside the cabin was reduced.

But you're measuring from the bottom of the tailgate to the top of the sail.

You're right, not sure how I've missed that. Where did you get the 234" length though? Here's the original tweet:

"Btw, in some prior tweets I’d said production Cybertruck would be ~80” wide (vs ~84” body width at unveil). This is slightly too small. Will be closer to 82”, but come standard with upper laser blade lights."

Really odd they would show a prototype at the unveil that is quite significantly different dimensions wise to what the presentation specs stated.
I'll have to look up the exact Tweet.

To Tesla's benefit and detriment, anyone who is passionate about their mission and products scrutinizes everything.

Apparently the first Model X prototype (the brown one with the black grill that was shown on stage) was also significantly larger than production. I don't recall those dimensions off-hand though.

Actually not, I'm measuring along the length or "X" axis (if you will). It looks like that because CT has a weird tailgate that slopes backwards. The top of the tailgate is higher that the bed, plus lens distortions but still it should be a pretty accurate representation of bed size I think...

And yet, you are.

The roof is even closer to the camera than the top of the tailgate, along with higher.
