Many early Cybertruck reservation holders are “flippers” who hope to make a significant profit by marketing to the “must have it now” buyers on eBay Motors, BAT, Cars and Bids, etc.
I would like to see Tesla do something, such as requiring Cybertruck buyers to hold them for a year, to discourage flipping. It is great that the earliest adopters have such enthusiasm but greed, to me, doesn't fit the vision of worldwide sustainable power. Flame me if you need to but that is my position on the matter.

Why flipping houses is okay, but flipping cars are not? Business is business, nothing personal.
Smart people always go first and risk their money. Someone was waiting for months and now they want to jump up the line? sounds so communistic!
PS, I did not preorder tons of CT and do not plan to flip them. Just my personal opinion and it might you might not agree with it

I always wanted a Model S but “wasn’t going to pay $100k for a vehicle”. A $40k Cybertruck would be ok.

Then, I changed my reservation to a dual-motor “because it’s only a little more”.

Now I’m like…

Tesla Cybertruck If Quad Motor Cybertruck is $89,900, are you still in? 9e9

The Tesla sales contract stipulates that the purchase is made in good faith and is not for resale.

While they cannot stop you selling your property, they can (and have) punished this behavior by cancelling existing orders and even issuing lifetime bans of future purchases.

Flipping houses generally means buying a property adding some value to it, then reselling it for a profit.

Flipping Cybertruck reservations is not adding any value to the vehicle, it is no different from scalping concert tickets.

Some people think ticket scalpers are cool. I’m not one of those people.

multiple sources are pretty certain the trimotor is getting replaced with the quad.
Unless one of those sources is Elon Musk or Franz it doesn't matter how many.

Lets get some context around this. Not random speculation.

Replying to a tweet that says the single motor truck is being eliminated, and there will be a 2,3, and 4 motor truck; Musk said there will be a 4 motor variant. He didn’t say anything about eliminating the tri motor.

Thats it. The idea that they would remove the tri motor configuration was all pure speculation.

People need to keep a handle on reality versus speculation.

as a previous owner of 3 hybrids I have to agree. It has complexity and maintenance of 2 systems! Fortunately the Toyota version are very reliable but still had to change oil and horrible driving experience. Once you go Tesla, you can’t go back!
I owned 2 hybrids back to back. I got better mileage, my cars almost never needed maintenance and, when they did, the cost was much lower than my ice cars. Apart from this difference in experience I agree with everything else you say.

Had two Prius, have zero problems with them. Did only oi, filters and tires. Put 100k miles on each of them. I was happy with them

Not really:
Thickets have a limited quantities, CT DOES NOT HAVE A LIMIT!
Just need to wait a little bit more :)

I didn't say that I think flipping houses, or anything (including cutting in lines), is ok. I didn't think it was appropeiate to enumerate all the things I see every day that upset me.

Greedy people are addicted to taking risks to make more money. It isn't smart, its sad. I love it when greedy people are confronted with their total selfishness they start using terms like soicialism and communism as a smoke screen for their problem. Don't try to pass off greed as smart. The world would be so much better off if greed alone could be eliminated. Business is business.... I guess if business = greed then sure. That is how the planet is going down the tubes. It ain't personal, nope.

Sorry about the rant, it is just wrong that we are talking this way on a Sunday night.

Followed him on Twitter for a bit. Maybe 2 days and 700 tweets was more than I could handle.

But Musk replies to him and he does seem to have some Tesla sources.
