Tesla put in the extra slat for me, but now it leaks more than it did originally.
I found that the water leak is actually coming from the front side of the cover going across the entire section. I am removing it and placing a seal on the fromnt side near the edge of the glass, I say a video on this and it seems to stop the water intrusion.
It has to be both: Extra-slat and also the rubber seal as part of the SB-25-11-001 work. They replaced the whole plastic shroud at the top as well - I know this because the side plastic pieces (where the tonneau control sits) is still scratched up, old, and weathered but the top piece trim by the rear glass is brand new plastics; so they replaced that whole thing below the roof glass (if that makes sense).

I traded my early FS AWD with 44k miles and got $76,400 trade-in about a month ago, but a month earlier it was $11,000 lower trade-in value, Tesla’s offers are very dynamic based on demand. I traded for a Cyberbeast with Lux package making it an easy decision for me. I agree with others that they will likely off lifetime SC again in the future but lifetime FSD is unlikely to be offered again which was important to me . I plan to keep this CT for 10+ years.
Compared to my early FS, the 2026 Beast is significantly better, quieter, better build quality, better charging profile.

If I were you I would wait until tesla is desperate to sell more trucks. I had a fs awd and waited for the free sc on the beast and got it. The trade in value is right for the 33k I had 28k and got 75400. So it was well worth the wait to get the beast and free sc for life with premium service for life. Worst case you sell your truck now and wait to get another one when they offer free sc. they will do it again but usually happens at the end of quarters before they report earnings
+1 for this👆 also my experience

I got an 2025 AWD premium loaner with 12k mile. I didn’t notice any real difference with my April 2024 AWD foundation series.

There is a huge unknown for this question, which makes answering very difficult. I have a M3P that is out of warranty and pay $50 a month to keep an extended warranty rolling with Tesla. This makes continuing to own this M3P easy, I have Tesla comfort in the event of any issues that I will not lose my shirt on the repair.

If I was certain they would offer a similar program for the CT, even if it were around $100 a month, I would have no fear holding my vehicle long term. What terrifies me is this extended warranty not becoming a standard offer to the CT because of all the early repair issues (PCS being most prominent), and having significant out of pocket repair bills in year 5 and beyond. The delta between eating more depreciation on a new CT and likely repair bills keeping FS is the primary mathematical formula for objectively determining if trading for a new CT makes sense, while also factoring in value loss of free FSD or lifetime charging if applicable. There's obviously subjective points as well, but since this is purely individual in nature, there's limited value in discussing.

If there is an extended warranty option, I'd gladly keep my FS CB for many years. If there isn't one, I will feel like I am in a ticking time bomb money pit, I will always be uneasy.

I wouldn't worry, Tesla uses fleet data to keep their fleets as reliable as possible. They use real-time fleet data to identify shortcomings and update production to fix the shortcoming ASAP. no other automaker is as quick when it comes to pro-actively updating the designs for better reliability. Of course the Cybertruck was such a new vehicle with new technologies, materials and construction, so there were bound to be some early issues.

That said, we own two 8 year old Model 3's from very early production and they have been bombproof, they never need anything but tires and windshield washer fluid (and occassional cabin air filter refreshes). I haven't worried about extended warrantees and I'm glad for that. Because in 8 years nothing has gone wrong that would be covered by an extended warranty so I've save a lot of money.

I got a quote of $69,400 from Tesla on a trade in value for an early build 2024 Dual Motor Foundation series with 33k miles. When asked about whether they take into consideration my PPF wrap which I paid $6k for… the Tesla rep said and I quote: “ That would be considered an aftermarket part which lowers your trade value.”

What do you guys think of this trade in value? I am thinking of getting a 2026 version which includes those subtle upgrades I read about.
great as trade in prices are wholesale and not retail price, wholesale industry average after 24 months -40%, negative also is your mileage at 15K/year considered high
True after market adds must be removed

Go for Latest Cybertrucks are perfect, you’ll have the corrected PCS
Good luck

I just traded my FS non beast to Tesla and got $77k for it. This was in Massachusetts. Not sure if that matters or not.

Yeah, thanks! My FSD usage is around 82% so that’s def important. I have a very early build… 05XXX so I didn’t get free supercharging… I think I need to go test drive one to see that difference for myself. Losing lifetime FSD and I assume lifetime premium connectivity is a big deal.
I don't want to lose lifetime FSD. I don't have free supercharging. I definitely don't want to test drive anything new because I don't want to be tempted. Fortunately, I have zero complaints with mine.

lol yes. I think I was the 2nd or 3rd cybertruck in the Houston area… the truck was like an out of space alien to people… the attention was intense!
Yeah I was early too, first week of delivery in my area. Man being early was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'll never forget that experience. Nothing like ever before and likely never again. That alone was worth the extra $20k, let alone the upgrades that it bought.

Worth it indeed. Tesla sent me the free gateway then a $2500 voucher on top of that which was nice. That’s $5k alone not to mention all the other goodies the truck came with (options, FSD, Premium connectivity, etc)
