So @comet2, what's your current setup?
Really appreciate everyone sharing their setups and experiences. Very informative thread.

My current setup is pretty simple:
- 2026 Model Y
- Tesla Mobile Charger mounted on the garage wall
- Model Y stays in the garage
- All other vehicles stay in the driveway

The plan right now is to upgrade to a Tesla Universal Wall Connector mainly for:
- the additional charging speed
- cleaner install/look
- future flexibility

When the CT arrives, it will most likely stay in the driveway. I may eventually add a second UWC specifically for the CT, but I need to check with an electrician first on my panel setup and whether any upgrades would be required.

That said, I may just use the garage UWC since the cable already reaches the driveway.

We both work only about 5 miles from home (attached pic is basically our “rush hour” 😂), so realistically I doubt we will ever need to charge both vehicles simultaneously.

Not planning on solar anytime soon.

I have three Teslas. Both stalls in my garage are outfitted with Tesla-branded chargers. However, I was surprised by all the folks with looping wires, loose cables in their pictures. It was exceptionally annoying dealing with the charging cables so I tossed the chargers over the rafters and hung each charger with spring-loaded, retractable tool holders. Now we just pick a stall, pull down the charger from just above our heads and plug in. Total game changer and no more dirty hands and cussing at stuck cables!

We don't have enough amperage to charge both cars at the same time, so we just have them scheduled on an offset schedule so that both cars get equal time to charge overnight. We don't charge during the day as we get a discount from the local electric company to charge overnight.

You don’t HAVE to upgrade anything on your panel thanks to group power management.
It’s pretty remarkable software actually.
Both chargers can be on the same 60 amp breaker and if two cars are plugged in it limits each to 24 amps preventing ever going above 48 amps. If only one car is plugged in on either charger it will allow the full 48 amps to that one car and if your panel is limited in some other way the total max charging speed can also be set below 48 amps total. It all talks to each other wirelessly.
You can even set it up so the max charging speed for both (or more) cars is only what you make in excess solar and adjusted minute to minute depending on production thereby preventing you from ever buying juice from your power company to charge your car.
You probably already know all this but I’m sharing it in case you don’t, because it could potentially save you a lot of money upgrading panels and doubling your wires. It’s just software that controls all this and like our cars it improves over time with OTA updates.
I genuinely don’t know of ANY other system smart enough to do all that. Maybe there are some, but Tesla has absolutely set the standard for how home charging should work.

We have 4 EV's here on the property with 3 of 4 chargers being true 'off grid' solar charging.

There are two Cyberbeasts, a model s plaid and a model 3 all pulling power power from here.

For charging we have 1 grid connected wall connector in the garage (connected to house system with powerwalls and solar)

Then we have 3 off grid solar setups. All with there own 60A wall connectors. (48A output)

The largest system is 150KWH of batteries with a 15KW solar ground mount array.

The second system in another building on the property is 112KWH of storage with 10KW of solar in process.

Lastly is my first off grid system which is a small setup of 32KWH of storage and 5KW of solar.

This went from a hobby curiosity to a sickness honestly, but it is fun to have unlimited power for all the cars here at the house and think nothing of KWH $$$ costs anymore (which can spike over 50 cents here during peak times in northern california) - its not economical by any means as far as a quick ROI. However, zero dependence on anyone but myself to power the cars (and the house & well pumps in emergencies) is a comforting thought.

In between work, kids and grand kids I have been trying to document some of this journey - here is a link to a channel I will be adding more content to -

https://www.youtube.com/@photonfarming

If you want to go off grid charging feel free to hit me up with any questions, if I can help others do it right the first time (instead of 3rd or 4th like me) I would be more than happy to :)

@AWDMK4 @TarheelCT @Alpine - What are your plans?

Curious how other multi-EV households are handling home charging setups.

For those with 2+ EVs:

* What chargers are you using?
* Single circuit with load sharing or separate circuits?
* Wall Connectors, mobile chargers, NeoCharge, etc.?
* Any regrets or “wish I had done this differently” advice?
* How do you handle overnight charging schedules?

Would love to see real-world setups. Pictures welcome.

Apologies if this has already been discussed.
Two EV’s, MY and CT, sharing one Tesla wall charger wired on 60 amp circuit. Never had a to charge each on same night. Been working great for two years.

Currently have a 2023 Model Y and a Juniper. The SAWD Cybertruck will be my fourth Tesla since 2018. I’ve got 300 amp service.

My charging setup is a Gen 3 Wall Connector on a 60amp circuit and a NEMA 14-50 on a 50 amp circuit using the mobile connector. The placement of both chargers allows me to recharge all the cars in the garage or driveway.

Although the WC is outdoor rated, I do like I installed them inside the garage and ran the cables outside through insulated RV doors
Shows my first cable/handle mount

changed the cable/handle mount to metal
Much better

Oh, one more thing, no regrets
RFM read the F Tesla wall connector manual
Make sure the wifi can reach where the WCs will be
If you hire someone, review the manual with them
Stress torquing the lug bolts to 50 in-lb
Only use the correct gauge of copper, use copper everywhere, no aluminum
Use an AI prompt to double check the cable AWG the installer specs before the work
I did 1 AWG from the main to the subpanel
4 AWG panel to each WC
Never a temperature issue
I did SER 1/3, two 1 AWG hots, one 1 AWG neutral, and 3 AWG ground for 125 amp
I did 4/3 for each WC:
L1 (Line 1 / one hot leg) — Typically black wire from the breaker.
L2 (Line 2 / other hot leg) — Typically red wire from the breaker. (L1 and L2 are interchangeable; polarity doesn’t matter.)
GND (Ground / Protective Earth) — Green or bare copper wire.
No neutral wire is required for standard 240V North American installations (the charger operates Line-to-Line).
No GFCI breakers
WC includes integrated GFCI / CCID20 (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device) protection, which monitors for ground faults (current leakage to ground) between the power conductors.

I have a universal wall connector and a gen3 regular wall connector. Universal wall connector is wired up and powered from my solar inverters and 43KwH of battery packs, all through a powershare module that goes back to a subpanel in my garage. 1 breaker and my main breaker inside the house has me on solar and truck backup if solar runs out at any moment I want to be off grid and save money.

Best solution I’ve ever had while being able to use Tesla powershare via DIY install. All up to code.

Impressive. Sounds like a setup I'd like to install in a new garage build next year. Would you have a diagram or schematic you could share?
