One of the biggest selling points of the CT is the SS outside. So of course we have people who want to remove it.

I know. I watched the announcement party live stream. However, how often do cars or trucks match their prototype designed exactly?

The cult of Elon Musk: Tesla founder comes to Detroit

When Morgan Stanley's Jonas, who has called the automaker the "world's most important car company," issued a report last fall suggesting that Tesla's forthcoming Model X crossover might face delays because of problems designing its gull-wing doors, Musk cracked back on Twitter.

"Rumors about canceling Falcon wing doors are false.
At Tesla, the production car will always be better than the show car," he tweeted, adding minutes later: "Really hate it when companies bring out an awesome show car and then you can never actually buy it. So lame."

2020 Oct during the conference call following Tesla’s release of its Q3 2020 financial results

CEO Elon Musk mentioned that he recently did a design review of the Cybertruck with Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla’s Design Chief:

“I was in the studio last Friday with Franz and the team looking over some improvements on the Cybertruck.”

Musk reiterated Tesla’s strategy to always improve on concept vehicles with the production version unlike other automakers who often significantly tone down vehicle from concept to production. The CEO added:

“There are a lot of small improvements compared to what was unveiled. I think it’s going to be better than what we showed.”

So. You’ve shown you can use the internet and Google. Good on you.

I stick by my statement. Elon may want it that way. But reality often trumps desire. They could have made the original prototype version. They would have sold less, guaranteed.

Quote him all you want, bash it all you want, troll me all you want. Don’t buy the truck if you don’t like it. That’s the beauty of free market capitalism.

Either way, zero skin off my back.
Peace

I agree with this completely. I can’t tell you how many concept cars I’ve seen over the years and none of them have come to fruition, except Tesla’s. Why make something awesome, get everyone hyped up and excited, and then deliver something subpar. It happens over and over again with legacy auto.

I’m happy they sized it down some.
One, it’ll be better for range,
Two, it will fit in most garages and be less difficult in tight situations.
This latest sizing is what the majority of people will want.
They will sell more and that’s what they’re supposed to do.
Yes, there is such as a thing as TOO big and wide for off-roading. Here in Northern California we have narrow fire-roads with tight manzanita on both sides. A good manzanita branch will strip you down to bare metal in no time. You definitely don't want to take your beautifully painted, wide vehicle on those!

'We don't need another Hero
(Thunderdome)'. Tina Turner

Well the woman Cybertruck passenger at the unveil did look to about similar height to Tina Turner (5 feet 4 inches or 1.63 m). She was the last person out and was probably sitting in the front middle seat/ console.
