120v plug wouldn't come on

Just FYI... I was going to use a 120v plug to run a shop vac vacuum. Every time I tried to turn the outlets on from my app, I kept getting the error message: " failed to update outlets" . This was puzzling since I turned them on the day before with no problem. The only difference I saw was that I had my wall charger plugged in at this time, but didn't yesterday. I unplugged my wall charger, and the outlets would now turn on.

^ what he said. And furthermore, I don't think we have a clear answer from Tesla yet if there will eventually be an update to allow the outlets to work when the truck is level 2 charging (or at least plugged in).

They work during supercharging though.

It's theoretically possible (but then, so was range extender)

In some prior models, the onboard charger was made up of 2 or 3 24A modules (48A, up to 72A for older Model S/X). I haven't followed it too much in newer models, although I wonder if it's broken down into 3x16A modules now, since I think the Model 3 Standard Range was limited to 32A charging. I can definitely see the usefulness for people running refrigerators or freezers to be able to keep at least the 120V outlets online during charging.

Yeah, Cybertruck is a totally new setup with its bidirectional capability. It's one board with (probably 3 for 3-phase) parallel power sections.

I'd love to see a full tear down of the PCS (anyone got one lying around?) to see what configurations are even possible.

My attitude is, if you are charging with AC, then AC is pretty handily nearby already, so instead of using the truck basically as an extension cord, you can simply grab another AC cord to do whatever it is that you want to do...
