Just got it tonight and...
Meh.
The sound profiles and lighting is more exciting than Grok. I'll stick with ChatGPT for serious AGI work for now.

Tesla Cybertruck 2025.26.4 and Grok experiences? light bar

Finally got the email. I don't know why they don't release stuff to everyone at the same time. I hate that some people get the updates days, even weeks in advance of me. With the light bar, it was months, almost a whole year, and some people had them for a year before I finally got mine no sign of grok on mine yet.

just got the update yesterday. I'm typically 1.5 to 2 weeks behind the very first rollout to gen pop.
I got it on my way home from the office.

What do you stay connected to in drive? Starlink?
It started on my office wifi, then i made a hotspot with my phone. Was getting about 12Mbps. By the time i got home and unloaded my stuff it was already updating. 🤘

If you use the dropdown on the ssid you're connecting to you can toggle "stay connected in drive." I do this with my hotspot ssid.

Got the update today and I'm liking it. I'm sure it will continue to evolve and improve and it will be nice when it integrates with the car but I think this was a solid update.

I've been playing with grok for a couple of days in the Cyber truck and these are my takeaways.
The kids trivia mode is four super small kids. Asking questions like what animal says moo and makes milk. The storyteller mode is like listening to a fiction book on tape. Even when you ask it to tell you a quick story, it takes several minutes just to get the point across.
Argumentative mode is fun if you like to debate. Works as intended.
Unhinged mode is a funny gimmick that you'll probably only use to wow people for the first time.
I'm still getting to know some of the other ones, I do have some kind of glitch or maybe everybody has the same experience, but the voice Eve does not allow me to select different modes when she is selected. I think it works. If I go to a different voice, select the mode I want and then switch back over to Eve.

Lastly, this is not the thread for it, but I thought I would mention it since two other people already did. I got my email as well for the light bar. They must have got a surplus of them in. I scheduled the appointment and they have the cant trails on it as well. Because my truck is wrapped in ppf, I am not excited about this.

Yes we do…..there is basically an entire thread already filled with public inquest and to some extent lynching regarding your stance on this. FWIW, I mostly share your viewpoint on the subject.

And banish. Don’t forget that.
I’d like to be dropped off in an air-conditioned Phoenix building each time I use the car.
Based on what our model x can do, that’s not that far of a reach technologically.
I had an 8 year old Model X UBER on a way older FSD version a few weeks ago. It was so much more fluid and aggressive than 13.2.9 in my CT. And that is HW3. Shocking.

Got the update, and linked it to my Grok account (which was surprisingly easy/well integrated). I only use the straight Assistant mode, and use the long press Speak button on the yoke to talk and to stop talking.

It's worked great for me. It's really handy when in a discussion and a question comes up, you can quickly ask it (and keep asking if there are follow up questions) vs. needing the non-driving person to look it up on their phone (which doesn't happen a lot).

Got it a couple days ago. I do like the language tutor and the natural language interface. For example, I asked it to quiz me on what I've learned so far but to include the two most recent phrases more often to help those sink in and it had no problems complying. My only real complaint it is has no memory from drive to drive so I have to start over and tell it what it taught me previously each day.

Do you have a paid for account? If not, linking/using that Grok account in your truck will mean its usage is throttled by the free limit, no? Are your custom Grok settings (how to respond etc.) carried over to Grok in the truck? For me this doesn't seem to work. The Grok chattiness and blabbermouth is my biggest reason why I am using chatGPT and Claude vs Grok. If it can be dialed in it would be so much more useful.

"supposedly" your chat sessions would be preserved (?) if you link your external Grok account i.e. use your account already in use on phone/pc/Mac. Buttt, I am quick to point out I have little success with it - can't say it doesn't work but I can't say it works either. It may just be buggy.

This is a big issues with AI in general and things like langmem, mem0 are trying to address!
