Is that windshield label some type of QR code?

I’ll try to spot it tomorrow when it gets unloaded from the truck and let y’all know. I saw a few other 50XXX VINs on the lot and they all had early Nov build dates. There is some randomness and variability to it or some factor we’re not privy to.The BUILD DATE would be interesting to know. I’m gonna guess that a 508xx VIN was built in the 3 rd week of October-total guess!
Interesting that a 508xx has made it to AZ already. They are telling me that my 508xx is still in Austin but should make it to CO for pickup by Monday.11/11/2024 for 508XX.
Mine was a replacement for a rejected VIN and I asked them to expedite the replacement given the circumstances around the rejection. I also suspect we’re pretty quick for deliveries given it’s the same route used to get to Southern California.Interesting that a 508xx has made it to AZ already. Yes, if memory serves it's the VIN.Is that windshield label some type of QR code?
Makes sense!Mine was a replacement for a rejected VIN and I asked them to expedite the replacement given the circumstances around the rejection. I also suspect we’re pretty quick for deliveries given it’s the same route used to get to Southern California.
My fit and finish was also top notch. Agreed the best I’ve seen from Tesla to date. My issue was transit damage and the myriad of communication failures that followed.Makes sense!
I'm scheduled for pick up, hope I don't have to reject mine. No idea what QC is like right now but I drove two different recent production vehicles and they were as close to perfect as you're going to get from Tesla.
Ah, well fingers crossed that they don't wreck mine.My fit and finish was also top notch. Agreed the best I’ve seen from Tesla to date. My issue was transit damage and the myriad of communication failures that followed.
I'm in VT and apparently the don't deliver cybertrucks at their brand new facility there yet... I have to commute 6 hours to pick up in Paramus or pay the transit $1000.My fit and finish was also top notch. Agreed the best I’ve seen from Tesla to date. Better having them liable for transport than youI'm in VT and apparently the don't deliver cybertrucks at their brand new facility there yet... I have to commute 6 hours to pick up in Paramus or pay the transit $1000.
Should I not risk the transport?
IMHO make the trip. I once picked up a 911 Turbo from two states away and was glad I went to the dealership in person so the tech could address one minor finding while I was there. The drive home was 2+ hours on a cold winter night and it was a fun way to get acquainted with the vehicle despite needing to take two trains and the subway along with a taxi to get out there for pickup.I'm in VT and apparently the don't deliver cybertrucks at their brand new facility there yet... My understanding is thatBetter having them liable for transport than youI think it’s worth it. Don’t be afraid to assert yourself if anything happens, and make sure they get you a new one vs. convincing you to deal with months of repairs.
It's a flight and then a 6 hour drive unfortunately. I did the same with my Model Y 1.5 years ago and it had a ton of issues.IMHO make the trip. If you find any reason to reject delivery I suspect you're going to be eating that transport fee regardless.
When I picked up my Model Y 18 months ago there (after flying in) it had a bunch of issues. They ended up working on it late into the night and dialed it all in. But it was a PITA.IMHO make the trip. In my opinion, anything that needs invasive repairs. If you think there’s a chance that it won’t be fixed 100%, or other things will get damaged during the repair, or it’ll be months of repeated service appointments…just reject it. Any body work beyond a minor sanding/buffing, major electrical issues, windshield replacements, day 1 issues with the tonneau cover, any internal cosmetic issues that require tearing down the entire front dash... I’m sure folks can come up with dozens of other things. Until Tesla brings back the 7 day guarantee or some other consumer-friendly approach to delivery damage, you’re accepting 100% of the risk and thus your threshold for rejecting the VIN should be quite low, in my opinion again of course. What issues might there be that I would reject the VIN flat out?
