I just wanted you to agree that charging to 100% isn’t feasible in the middle of a long distance drive. Thats all.

You seem to think the inconvenience you tolerate is OK for everyone to tolerate. I don’t think so.

Maybe I have higher standards.
You seem to think that occasional "inconvenience" for road trips means constant inconvenience.

I had to go put gas in my wifes car yesterday and i was like.. oof.. people do this all the time?

Plugging in at home is the ultimate convenience. The occasional inconvenience of chilling in your car for ashort supercharging stop a couple times a year is much less than multiple times a month going to the gas station.

Sounds like you might be still rocking evs in the old school way. The cars literally do all the thinking for you. If youre planning your charging stops and staying past the amount trip planner suggests, youre doing it wrong

If you have half a million you can afford a house. Many houses. You aren't poor. You've made a choice. Don't complain or bitch about older generations.

I'm a millennial. Is the no houses mindset real? lol I got my house in 2019. (2.5% interest rate for me)

But I do know some ppl who dont have houses and have evs.

One dude runs a cord out his apartment window (first floor)

and another has charging at work so he doesnt have to charge at home at all.

Just have to think about how it works for you.

I don’t think you’re going to charge to 100% every time you stop at a supercharger for a long distance trip.
Correct, you do not, unless you are towing which I did quite a bit in the early days of my MX. Also had to drop the damn trailer somewhere in the parking lot before backing up. I got pretty good at it. It was a 2500lb popup and pretty much required 100% back in 2016-2017. Far more chargers now, but I can't speak to the effect of heavier payloads and towing capacity.

FWIW, I stopped towing around 130k miles, and it squeaks by as a road trip vehicle now with about 220 mile range and 220k+ miles on the ODO.

Wild speculation alert!!!!
There were images of a CT display with 600+ miles range. Perhaps there is some way to add auxiliary battery storage, in a trailer?
Consider how Tesla engineers ponder the larger battery problem where long range is only required rarely. It may make more sense to put the extra battery storage in the device requiring the abnormal storage requirements.
The idea of trailers and campers with batteries and motors are coming to life..check out pebble! https://pebblelife.com/?utm_source=...Pe5QG-Do-JH8cwPfyz7q-DNLQ73NqRdsaAuN_EALw_wcB

I think 300 miles is proper (since it's what they promised). I know a popup isn't luxurious, I literally picked one up and started towing/camping as soon as I could. But the MX 90D was only rated at 258 miles at 100% and we took it everywhere, as far north as Jasper, AB. The 90D was a horrible battery pack. Here's the day I picked it up, note the 60 day tags :)

I'm not saying you are going to be towing your Airstream all over the place, but there's still lots of fun to be had for those that are up for it. I would have been over the moon with a 300 mile rated range. Definitely need some trailer friendly charger setups.

Some chargers had a nice lane for towing. Can't remember where this is:

If you give it the benefit of the doubt, and say it was at 85% and rounded up to 90% (9/10 bars), that’s a mileage of 312 miles. And an advertised mileage of 325-330 miles.

What do you charge to on a regular?
I charge to 85-90% and I don't plug in daily. When I need 100%, I don't let it sit there once it has topped off and I typically don't allow it to get under 20% unless I'm traveling.

if its 90% then we are just about 300 miles
if its 81% then we are just about 327
85% would be 311
so itssomewhere in there

my model y was 300 and my model 3 was 310 so im cool no matter which of these it is. but i hope its 330 lol
same here. Ive had a 2017 model 3, first 1000 made vin number (717) and 100% is 300 miles. I charge daily to 90% 260 miles and for daily use its perfect. I hope the CT can get at least 350 as I sometimes take a 3 hour drive from sarasota FL to Miami to visit family and that 300 mile ends up being roughly 250 so I have to literally either go straight to Miami and charge at my moms or pull up to a charger. it would be ideal if you could make this 200 mile drive and still have enough battery to go about your business when you arrive to your destination. 350 is the sweet spot for me.
