I just read the article. It seemed like the main thrust was that it was a marketing failure, not that it was a bad vehicle, though It did mention some build issues and such, especially in the early versions. Some parallels with the Ford Edsel are certainly apt. Hey, I do not even find it to be a particularly visually attractive vehicle. But, I am eager to pick mine up tomorrow. I do believe it is exceptionally well engineered. Love the low maintenance and that I can charge it from my solar panels and skip the gas stations and so much more.
I agree…and I was there for the Edsel. El Cheapo CT is cheaper than the equivalent powerwalls and it's all the truck i need for landscaping work on my 4 acres. Even if it does look like a refigerator on wheels, it's no worse than the ICE monstrosities. And it will cost 0 to run since the existing solar can easily handle the adidtional draw over the M3 it will replace.

Tesla’s earnings call just happened for Q2 and it still lists Cybertruck production at 125,000 a year….

By that logic, every single person should get their SAWD model next month, as they should be pumping out 10,000+ a month.

(Sarcasm) but it would be nice if they would actually ramp up production.

100%. The best darn vehicle. Especially in this 100 degree weather, the vehicle is 68 degrees when I step in to go home after a long day at work. 👍👍👍

Yours or just one at your local Service Center?

EDIT: it's parked in the "Sales Demo" spot so if not yours, is it a SAWD or RWD? Would need to look at the bed to tell.
Apologies for the lack of context. I can confirm it's a brand new SAWD at Fremont. Not mine. Looks great. Stance is spot-on. Interior reminds me of my vintage Model S with cloth seats, which I loved. For me, the wheel/tire combo looks goofy. I would upgrade those. But otherwise, this is the one to get! I haven't done a test drive comparison yet, but hope to soon.

Tesla is losing money on each CT and especially "El Cheapo" :) this will be a sloooooow roll out. This truck really has become the "Cyber-Edsel" it seems. Buy it before it gets discontinued.

The HW3 "upgrade" mumbling shows you that Cars and customers are not longer a priority...

Interesting perspective but to be fair, the majority of members posting in this thread have already "bought" it. We're just waiting on delivery.

No apologies necessary and thanks for the extra photos! Do you have one on order?

Just noticed you're wheels have a small lip/step along the disc
Wonder if that is due to the increased offset and/or width? Yours looks "less concave".

Just an observation I have made and purely for discussion purposes only...as we know how little to trust the delivery window that Tesla provides. So, grain of salt and all of that.... this is just for fun.

I use the Tesla Assist app and I purchased it to unlock other features. One of the new features included is the Live Feed....essentially in the app you can anonymously share your order metadata to the app, and it will track order changes on worldwide level from other Tesla Assist app users. You can filter the data down to individual models and countries...so I have been looking at US Cybertruck Standard AWD live feed changes.

In the past few days, the overwhelming majority of delivery windows have moved up (sooner) by a week to a month or more for some. Some delivery windows that were N/A (2027) were given dates that have a 30 day or less window. There were a good many delivery window changes yesterday (as others here have shared their changes).

Anyway, just an interesting observation that means nothing. I am sure dates will change again. But hopefully there is something relevant from the data trend that is being shown.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I did have a different off set, perhaps that is the difference. I think I went 45 (recommended by AI for my preferred tire size, and factory look preference, also I went with 9.5 inch wide wheels, because I wanted a flatter tread, and flatter sidewall)
One thing I will say about my wheels, the dish portion is much deeper than it appears in photos. To my eye it is very attractive.

Oh yeah, forgot you got wider than stock wheels.

Im referencing this portion that seems to be missing on mine. 18x9 ET58
