🤣 . I have those here now. There not bad folding but the sides seems to push in too easily. I decided to use them for garage shelf storage etc. there a good price but for the money I much prefer the Plano and they will be more water tight than the vevor.

That means you simply need to buy more things to put in those boxes... :D

Iv owned several trucks for about a 20 year span. Never had an L track or any of these fancy tie downs or any storage system whatsoever. Every once in a blue moon, I'd throw some shit back there but mostly i never ever looked or opened the back. Never seen a molly panel before, never tried to camp in the back of one. Where the bed did come in handy is vacation time. We could take as many things with us as we wanted without worry

Iv never seen so many accessories for the back of a pickup truck but truth be told, I never visited Ford or checvy truck forums so I don't know if they were up to the same things.

Its all neat looking, but other than going on a trip, why carry all that back there? Its just a 6x4 space. Why all the compartments?

My biggest mod just came in today. I’m so excited! My Cybertruck SAWD will be our 4th Tesla. We have an XP, YP, and 3 currently. Today I got home and saw my biggest mod delivered to my driveway. 64 solar panels, and #2 20 kWh batteries. Luckily I’m only buying the power all this stuff produces, and it’s $0.06/ kW cheaper than my utility. So this should actually save me money!! Plus I’ll have power to charge my fleet, even during outages! I had considered an NG standby generator, but those can cost $17-$20k installed after permitting according to the generator guy that stands at the exit isle at Costco.

L track on my truck with tie downs gets used constantly. I thought about the mattress for camping but then realized the bed is full of gear Id have to take out to go to sleep.

I can see where you're coming from.

My 2005 Nissan Frontier had something similar to the L-Tracks and I loved them. Easy to get the tie down points exactly where you needed them. When I replaced the Nissan with the 2017 F-150, it became our road trip vehicle since it had plenty of room inside for the kids and dog and with a hard folding toneau, like you mentioned, you can cary a ton of stuff in the bed. I used to pack 2-3 of the Costco black/yellow bins when we traveled but they never fit just right in the F150 so it's nice to see the Plano containers fit perfectly in the back of the CT.

I have the knock off Telsa divider from Amazon on the way, some Kobalt 2" ratchet straps and L-Track double-stud tie down points, but that's probably the extent of bed mods. I say that... but you guys keep posting cool stuff! :)

Coming from several Jeeps this is nothing. 😂. I like the Molle bed sides to keep things out of the way that you “might need” at some point. I put a med kit and a small plugin tire Inflator. The Plano boxes I see using them on trips to keep shit from flying around the bed, but yes an empty truck bed is a nice thing also. During my recent trip I had 4 suitcases and a bunch of other stuff and only filled up about 3/4 of the bed. It was great. I feel like the CT with the tonneau and the angle you get to go higher than most any truck near the cabin.

Serious question, what would you pay for a "Smuggler's Vault" retrofit kit from Tesla as a DIY install? My cap would probably be $1500 shipped to my local Tesla dealer to install myself.
I would pay $750 (Maybe). As @Alpine said, I don’t see myself using an L-Track or the smugglers bay. Would I use it if it came standard, probably. We are in Oklahoma, we hardly tie anything down while driving down the road. 😜😜

I wouldn't pay anything. I prefer the lighter standard bed. The CT is already ass heavy, i dont need more weight in the back. Pawd owners have said debris gets through those cracks and there is no practical way to clear that debris. I have a compact pouch the size of an eggplant with a wireless compressor and patches and tools for tire repair that can store in a door pocket and that's all I plan to haul around with me.

DIY solar install?

IMG_0561.webp
LOL no! They are installing it. They start Wednesday. This is a massive job, it’ll take a crew 3 days. It cost to me is $350/ month. It is supposed to offset $450 n electric. We will see!
