Wonder if these trucks are already assigned or not. Seems like there hasn’t been any VINs assigned since the hold.

I believe that it is at this point the VIN gets assigned to an order. Before the trucks pick them up.

So no is my guess.

This is a critical aspect in the car and a basic oversight that Tesla missed. An 'easy fix' doesn't take away from the fact that they screwed up the design ... but at least it is angular so it fits with the theme of the CT ... haha /s

It wasn't a basic oversight. It's taken how long to surface? How many proven instances have there been?
Things like this often have varied and mixed reasons, one, if it was a glue, could have been that the glue manufacturer changed something.

That is why vertical integration is so important! That vendor will be in really hot water!

Makes sense. When the truck is loaded, it is 2-5 days from the destination SC.

That’s over $91M of unsold inventory if they are all Dual Motor models.

Tesla will mostly have 1k + freshly manufactured CT’s sitting around the assembly plant by this weekend.

It seems I have seen as many New VINs issued on these streams this week as any other week. BUT, I thought the hold was until the 23rd? Who knows. I am having a really bad day and this is just one more thing that is NOT going my way. I saw on some other threads guys that were behind me ... way behind me in the RN line getting their VINs this week. Happy for them but it is hard to be left in the dark for 4 1/2 years.

Got a VIN assigned yesterday in Ohio. FWIW, I also signed my PowerShare Gateway install estimate on Monday. RN 11/29, Order 3/5, PS 4/15, VIN 4/16. FS AWD. Not influencer, large shareholder (LT shareholder but not even close to 500 level) or referral pts. I do own an M3LR and MYLR. No idea how that happened, except Ohio needs to catch up on deliveries. Haven't seen any on the road.

This is exactly what I am talking about. You are 100,000 behind me on your RN and 2 months behind me on config and I have no VIN in VA. I just don't get it.

What does a guy have to do? I need it for a trip of a lifetime in July and I may not even make it till next year ...

Thanks. Of course I'm thrilled and at the same time feel bad for everyone who is waiting. I was shocked, since I told my wife recently that I didn't expect it for months with all the Jan orders with no VIN. I do think the PowerShare quote had something to do with it. Got the call fast (before the email from Tesla). Kudos to SkyCharge Energy for that. Once they told Tesla I signed off, boom, got a VIN the next day. Or maybe I just got lucky that there weren't a lot of early orders in OH. Very strange, for sure.

each state is separate, your in VA hes in CA whats not to get ? you guiys are part of totally separate lists.

I'm in CO, YMMV. Got VIN on Sunday morning (weird time and day) and I'm taking delivery tomorrow. They've been very communicative every day.

Naturally I will not sleep tonight hence the time of this post.
