Don't know if its just me but the reports of a bit of rust on the stainless steel don't really bother me, I actually think that the steel could end up looking extremely cool with a bit of weathering.

Look at some of these images of older stainless steel I would love this kind of aesthetic on the cybertruck. I'm debating not having any wrap at all because I think I might want this kind of look, gives the car more character. And if at any point you get bored of it, you can buff it away. The real question is how will the steel look as it ages, how much variance will there be depending on the environment and will it be the kind people like. I wish there was some way to figure this out without having to wait a few years.

I don't know if I'm even that bothered by scratches, I kind of want my Cybertruck to look like its millennium falcon "gone from one side of the galaxy to the other".

Where i am going to have mine is on a dry tropical island along the equator, lots of salt and volcanic dust in the air, things rust a lot, it actually looks like mars. I can't wait to see it age will look even better the longer it is there.

Agree.... I don't have time to wash it and rub it and buff it and worry about it all the time, or it's not worth owning it. Ain't nobody got time for all that.

I’m a bit conflicted. I’ve quit babying my cars and just drive them all through car washes and just facing the fact that door dings and scratches are going to happen

even though this car is very expensive i’m gonna do the same. I’d only be wrapping it just for cosmetic reasons. I think it would look cool and mat black but then not sure if I’ll be able to run a wrapped car through car washes? If that’s an issue I’m just gonna leave it. I live in the northwest, so if it gets rusty it gets rusty.

Once a year, I get my car detailed and they come out looking mostly like new. I assume the same with the play to a rusty cyber truck

Agreed. I drive many miles on gravel and dirt roads so my vehicles are always dusty/dirty/muddy. My Cybertruck (when I finally receive it) will rarely be washed unless it rains. I will probably hose it off occaasionally and only give it a good washing 3-4x/yr before local EV shows...but other than that, I plan to just drive it, and use it in all weather and on all road and trail surfaces to see how it really holds up to daily use by a naturalist and environmental educator. I am interested to watch the patina form on the SS as well as how the truck holds up to the dust and vibration of daily off-road use as well as the functioning of the mechanism of the tonneau cover - will it clog with dust or will it just keep working? Will the dust find ways through the "cracks" in the cover and make its way into the bed? What about all the other systems of the truck? I will be sure to document and share it all here as well as on my YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@cybernerdsteve - feel free to subscribe...but there are no videos yet since I am still waiting for my Cybertruck :)

??? old stainless really doesn't look like that. I suppose it could be wrapped to look old, but no, it's not going to look like any of those photos.

I could find a photo of stainless that's been outdoors for 40 years, unwashed other than rainwater, and still looks essentially new.

After a LONG time it looks good, the first few blemishes etc are going to be not as attractive.
All different series stainless weathers differently so it will be interesting to see what these look like if left alone for a year.

The St. Louis arch, nice... I have a old friend that was there as the last piece was put in in '65 and even took some snapshots.
