It's becoming pretty evident that Tesla really doesn't care nor places priority anymore on the Cybertruck. Had the sales matched the pre-orders, I feel like we would all be in a different boat; enjoying all the benefits that other models get.

1) FSD is fundamentally a joke - either gets uncomfortably close to other vehicles, curbing, keeps hugging either the left/right part of the lane (instead of being dead center), and/or runs the wipers dry on a sunny day. In some safety critical situations, it just turns into the wrong side of the road / divider.
2) No Actual Smart Summon - not even providing users with a dumb summon in the meantime until they can figure out how to implement ASS - I have a feeling this will never come and will be cancelled like Autopilot.
3) Cancelled Autopilot - Tesla completely gave up on their Autopilot venture for non-FSD users, which is huge given every Tesla to date used to have the basic Autopilot feature.
4) and now this: S and X will be getting an overhaul when it comes to the next revision of FSD. Thanks to their vehicles having a dedicated GPU, it will be using Unreal Engine moving forward to push the next generation of FSD Visualizations - similar to 10.10 software seen in the CyberCab. For the longest time, especially given the price of the Foundation Series, I thought the Cybertruck will at least share the same processor as the S and the X - not the 3 and Y. However, Grok just confirmed the Cybertruck only has 2 TFlops vs the dedicated GPU S and X have at 10 TFlops therefore it won't be able to ever run Unreal Engine.

If only the Cybertruck had sold well... none of us would be in this situation.

Sorry to hear about your FSD problems. I guess i have been lucky, I have had my CT about a month and use FSD everywhere and no real problems to speak of.

Since this thread is bitching about the cybertruck. i actually love mine, but this would dissapoint me,hopefully they can make alternative plans for us. I will say though. I saw a cybetruck the other day... and i am one of those who always has loved the way they look.. anyway i saw my first cybertruck and i was, that looks awful. This was a regular silver truck like mine... But you could tell it hadn't been washed or cleaned in awhile and had like 5-8 magnets on the back top, i was like that looks awful heh

I had a 2020 Model Y and just replaced it with a Juniper Model Y. I also have a Cybertruck. In my opinion, FSD on Cybertruck is better than HW3 Model Y but not as good as AI4 Model Y. I drive on FSD exclusively (except towing of course) on both my vehicles taking over as necessary.

My Cybertruck has the same issues everyone else reports: (a) riding too close to the left lane, (b) making some left hand turns towards the median or wrong lane, (c) occationally curbing the back tires when making turns. Its not great that the experience is worse than AI4 Model Y, but I think it is to be expected given the huge disparity in the number of vehicles on the road. I am confident they will improve those issues in Cybertruck over time.

In my mind, the visualizations exist to help you trust the system. While flashy visuals would be cool I don't think they do anything to further trust in the system so I don't really care.

I was having issues with streaming music, so I did the double-thumb scrollwheel reset. It was quite disconcerting driving in FSD with the screen black, I never realized how much I rely on the visualizations 🙀

Was it me? I've given up on cleaning the bugs off the front of the CT. One drive and it is completely covered. The one car wash that fits the CT well near me doesn't get them off, and scrubbing every day is time I can spend better elsewhere.

It is funny that this thread is complaining about what CT is missing. But here we are coming up on two years after release and no other vehicle on the market comes close to matching the steer-by-wire maneuverability of the CT. I always have two vehicles and I only want to drive my CT because SBW. I want to replace my second vehicle cause it is feeling old, but nothing else has SBW. Once another vehicle adds the feature (please give me a SBW Plaid!) I will entertain the idea CT may be falling behind, but for now it is in a class of its own for drive quality.

I would never trade 4 wheel drive by wire steering for enhanced visualizations. If the refreshed S had half the tech of the CT, then I would switch. Don't forget how disappointing the refreshed S and X are from a tech standpoint. CT still leads and will for awhile. I'm not convinced this visual wont' come to CT anyways, Grok is NOT always 100% accurate.

I also have an S and a 3. Just sold my last ICE vehicle!

Remember, we’re part of the Gemini program at this point—not the Apollo Moon landings part yet.

I’ve had my Beast since June 2024. I’ve also had all the same issues with FSD. The driving into the left lane on left turns is the worst. It doesn’t do it if vehicles are already in the lane, thankfully, but it will get close at times. I’m coming up on 20,000 miles and use FSD about 90% of the time( I do a lot of off-roading, or it would be 99%). My biggest gripe right now is that the FSD ruins my Tesla insurance safety score. When I drive, my score goes up. With FSD, the score goes down.

This is my 5th Tesla, and I’ve loved them all. I believe Tesla will figure out the software at some point. Till then, I’ll keep being a safety driver.

Side note: I’m hoping they stop building the Cybertruck so that the trucks value goes up. It will keep its uniqueness better if there are fewer of them.[/QUOTE]

has anyone noticed that the dry wipe on the windshield has gotten worse in this latest software update? Mine seems to dry wipe every time I’m in FSD now.

I've experienced all of the above, the wiper being the most irritating as it does it almost every time I switch into FSD or shortly there after. Sometimes driving down the wrong side of the road, cutting into a curb on a left hand turn, and hugging the center is just plain scary, but I still love it and hope eventually they will collect enough data to train these things out. Occasionally it will decide to pull into my drive instead of speeding up and shooting down the street at the last second. Once it actually took me all the way into my garage and parked within 4 inches of letting me close the garage door. Magical! But the next time it almost crashed into my wife's already parked car.

Still I love FSD especially since I'm not paying for it. Assuming they fix the wiper problem I might pick up the subscription after the free period ends. I can pay attention and stop it from driving crazy but there is no way to stop the stupid wiper other than turning it off - which requires a dry wipe? Is there another way to disable it?

Did you try toggling the wifi off-on before the reset? I've also done a MCU reset mid drive, and it is indeed sketchy haha

pin the wiper setting to your bottom bar is the best we have so far.

I'm kind of over washing it all the time too. In the first few months I washed it more than all my other 50 years of vehicle ownership combined. Now it takes a comment from my wife to remind me that its worth washing for other people's benefit if not mine. (She does not like riding around in a dirty truck.)

My grandson (grown) asked me if I would ever consider selling my CT and getting something else. After thinking about it, I don't think it is likely. Who else is going to build anything close to it? I hate occasionally having to drive a vehicle without four wheel steering and steer by wire. I use the vault all the time, often as a platform for working. Climb up at entry height, use the app to lift it up another 4 inches and I can reach most things I need to. Leave the AC on in 97 -100 degree weather while running errands. It's replacement would have to be very, very amazing.

Well, WiFi is not really in use mid-drive, right? I don't know of any way to cycle the Cellular data connection without a screen reboot.

I agree it seems like the Cybertruck has been ignored too long. I’m told from the sales people at Tesla that Robotaxi is the emphasis and others will come along later. I also have issues with my CT hugging the white line on certain roads (hitting the rumble strips) forcing me to take over. Also, its lane choices are horrible. Keeps going to a merge lane when the regular lane is fine. Like it doesn’t understand the proper route. My CT works fine with FSD while cruising down the interstate or highway but in town, it’s a different matter. It won’t even stop at my address. FSD always takes me 4 houses down from where I live then stops. 😫. I’ve verifies the address but to no avail. If I come in the other way (to my house), it turns on the blinker to the right when my house is on the left but does stop at the house. So strange.
