Stay tuned
Exactly!

There is nothing bizarre about it. In fact, it's just like the reservation agreement told us when we made our reservations:

Tesla will contact you when you your production nears with full pricing and specs and availability so you can configure your order in advance of delivery or get a refund, if you chose.

What is so hard to understand about that? Tesla is not known for treating their customers like kindergarteners.

Wow, you must think Tesla is beyond amazing. Really. Can you imagine a Q4 call with Ford where they say “We know we have a stale and outdated lineup, but our sales are still outpacing everyone else. And our year over year numbers are unmatched, and we are doing what no one else can do, even with an unstale lineup. And we have the #1 selling car in the world, electric or gas, And we are getting everything refreshed, as much as you can refresh something so musty. But we’re making money like no one else can, despite how stagnant our lineup is. So, we’re just gonna stand pat. Not change a thing. Oh yeah, except for the two refreshes we just finished, and the two in the works, and the all new Semi. Oh, and the all new vehicle that has 4 times the number of preorders as any other vehicle ever, and it’s being built in a way nothing else ever has, with materials being used that have never been used in a vehicle before. But OTHER THAN THAT, we’re pretty darn stale. Sorry. Just sell all your stock, cause we have no idea what we are doing. Bye.”

You missed @PilotPete 's point.

The Tesla Model Y will be the best-selling car in the world, not last year, but this year. Including pick-up trucks, gas cars, "real" SUV's, etc. That would not be the case if new car buyers considered it "stale".

The Model 3 is a top seller, and it's been around almost twice as long.

You sure come up with some strange ideas that you try to pass off as reality.

Maybe Tesla could have, I dunno, some sort of event to release the info? Maybe on a specific day? ?
With a countdown timer?

I am betting that Tesla will send out invitations in waves depending on geographical locations. So if you have a high priority reservation, you are probably not getting it until they open orders or send out invitations. Once they clear out all the reservation invitations, they will start opening up orders for everyone. Many will be waiting it out if the initial trucks are priced high anyway. So I'm guessing they will be able to clear the invitations rather quickly.

Tesla will do what they always do, deliver based on geographic shipping batches, not sure why everybody thinks there is some kind of line based on the reservation numbers, there's not. The reservations will be pulled based on geographic delivery targets and nothing else.
Exactly. This is the way they have always done it. Why would they suddenly change? It’s a matter of logistics: ramping production according to demand after they release the pricing and specs.

Why would there be? Tesla isn't delivering everybody's Cybertruck at the delivery event, just a handful. It will be first of the year before they start batching out requests to complete configurations. This is the pattern of the last several launches.
Probably going to employees as well.
