I’m sorry, I hate to make my first post about this.
I am 2018 RWD Long Range M3 owner (one of the first) and a hopeful Cybertruck owner when regular production kicks in.

I can’t help but hear about all of these problems these cybertrucks are having. Between this AC issue, windshield wiper, “rust” I know it’s not actual rust, accelerated pedal, and a few others. This truck objectively was not and is not ready for mass production. It saddens me to see this being so rushed. Overpromised range and price that were both failures at launch.

Again, I am an early model 3 adopter and have had ZERO issues with my car now 80k miles. I want the Cybertruck to succeed but man these stories are horrific imo
It's been bumpy for sure.

I guess look at this way though.

They have what, 20,000 CTs released and just a handful of HVAC issues?

The windshield wiper is a big miss, but it happens.

I'm trying to stay positive and a believer overall...they are making it harder...

When I read these posts, it's Deja Vu all over again, haha!!

I bought two 2020 MYLR's in the first year of production (July/August 2020).

Back then , the TMC forums were awash with stories of failures/problems (AC issues, rear motor failures, misaligned panels, rear hatches leaking, missing tie-rod bolts, defects in the paint, and on and on). Our MY's needed the T&P sensors replaced (recalled) and that's it. Four years and zero issues with both.

I'm not suggesting that people aren't having issues with their CT's (heck, my wiper motor is busted haha!!). But these forums are mostly for people to come look for solutions or to vent about problems.

You'll get zero replies to a thread titled "Nothing to see here, my CT works great." haha!!

And other than the wiper issue, my CT is AWESOME, haha!! I love every moment I'm driving it.

Totally agree. For each model I’ve had there was always the early ramp of issues that vanished after a 1-2 years time. The truck has been out for only 6-7mos and for the most part it’s a solid vehicle with the number of advanced tech in this thing it’s no wonder many of us current owners are ok with these issues. It’s like nothing I’ve ever driven and it’s a marvel it’s on the road. My MY had an AC issue and some other things that got fixed, however that didn’t stop me from getting a second model Y two years later and both cars have been driving perfectly. The second had zero issues. Us early adopters were ready for the risk, I think the biggest curve has been for early adopters for whom this is their first Tesla, First EV and first truck. They undoubtedly will have the most issues in each of these categories and get the truck into bad situations, especially off-roading for the first time. In general I’ve had some issues with my CT but it’s been worth it and has been super amazing vehicle, with zero safety issues.

Totally fair and level headed response. You are 100% correct I am sure. I am just seeing post after post after post about all these issues and had begun to weigh heavy on my decision making

I got my FS Beast two months ago and same AC issue after 6 days. Luckily for me the parts were still available so they fixed it in 3 days. I also had a rattle at the back that took time to fix but now I am the proud owner of a flawless and amazing car.

Update:

ETC is now 3 Jul.

At this pace, they are going to give me a new 2027 model year CT via FL's Lemon Law.

It seems you haven't experienced owning new model years from any manufacturer before. For reference, you can look up Toyota’s switch from older V8 engines to new Hybrid V6 engines. These new V6 models have faced numerous problems within the warranty period, leading many Tundra owners to sell their vehicles before the warranty ends. This isn't to say Toyota is a bad brand, but it highlights that new products often encounter issues.

Usually a good idea to read all the posts from a thread before posting. Certainly the post from the person you’re trying to call out….

I’ve only seen a few reports of these issues. Less than 100(I’m sure I haven’t seen them all) but there has been 11k+ CTs created, so percentage wise it’s pretty low, and for a completely new platform that’s pretty good.

Would you mind posting a screenshot of their notes on the repair order? I’m currently messaging with my local service center with what may be another issue with HVAC. I had a similar HVAC issue to yours and it was resolved as they found a “small leak” but I feel there may be more to it. My CT is now struggling to cool even on “Lo” when it’s ~80F out.

Appears the control wiring harness had a faulty pin.

I got an early 2020 MY and it’s had zero issues and nearly 50,000 miles.
