It is quite a gimmick to sneak in 'gas savings' in that check box. That is big-3 dealership stuff. LoL

UPDATE: Mongo correctly pointed out there is an 'Edit Savings" option to toggle what to include.

I’m lucky to get the commercial credits + FSD transfer on a totaled 3 last Nov. But this is a killer deal. Point of sale credits should lower sales tax too right?

Ready to welcome new owners!

lol! What’s gimmick about CT? That’s how it has always been for any Teslas. Please don’t tell me you are from a parallel universe. ?

Haha, they could have had two check boxes but instead they wrapped them together. That big-3 dealership stuff. :)

Interesting observation: not all the existing $79.9K 2025 AWD cars in inventory appear to eligible for the tax credit. Curious if it’s something related to battery component sourcing that might have change in the last few weeks?

I see what you mean, but I remember seeing the same for other models when tax credit was available. There were never two checkboxes. First of all, I don’t even like that checkbox. It’s so misleading. I just uncheck it and see the full cash price. I hope most do the same before buying! ?

I think you're right. If I search for Cybertrucks on the Tesla inventory page, the results are now sorted into two groups. At the top, I get "New Vehicles" (meaning 2025s) that qualify for the tax credit. Underneath, I get a separate listing of "Vehicles Not Eligible for Federal Tax Credit", which includes 2024s (both FS and non-FS), plus other "New Vehicles" (meaning 2025s).

Why are some 2025s eligible for the tax credit, and other 2025s ineligible? It would seem that something changed in the 2025 Cybertruck production process: 2025s made before the change don't qualify, and those made after the change do. And as you suggest, it's most likely something related to the sourcing of battery components. Battery issues are reportedly why 2025 Rivians don't qualify for the tax credit.

The tax credit will obviously make it easier for Tesla to sell qualifying 2025s. However, Tesla still has 2024s and non-qualifying 2025s in inventory. Those may become harder to sell, if a qualifying 2025 is both newer and $7,500 cheaper.

I just accepted a 2025 Tesla cybertruck last week. I wonder if they will retroactively submit the time of sale report so that I can report it on my taxes. Does anybody have any information on this?
Tesla needed to run the vehicle through the portal at time of sale/ delivery, so you're likely not going to get it. (But there may be a 3 day window assuming the pack qualified)

Nope, it's like more downpayment, no impact on sales tax.

The cells/ pack previously used imported Chinese cathodes which made the vehicle ineligible any 30D credit as of Jan 1, 2024.
