Before launch there were several photos taken showing brake lines :-(No updates on this post-launch?
From Tesla's manufacturing perspective, what Brake-by-Wire is most helpful for is the progress toward greater modularization. If one can eliminate all of the hydraulic lines then one really can modularize the construction of a vehicle. Steer-by-Wire is certainly one step toward that goal. So it always made sense for Brembo Sensify to be implemented in the Cybertruck but it seems like Brembo Sensify is either not ready for deployment, wasn't cost effective at this time, or some other explanation (or combination of possible explanations), because if there are any hydraulic lines the fully-modularized idea falls short. Maybe BbW will be in a future version of the Cybertruck and maybe they will wait for the next vehicle.Ok, thank you! Yeah I heard at least one reviewer guy say “brake by wire” and I doubted it.
Agreed. Seems most logical it will debut when the “unboxed process” manufacturing lines debut. Sounds like that will be the Model 2/next gen vehicle. From Tesla's manufacturing perspective, what Brake-by-Wire is most helpful for is the progress toward greater modularization.
