They keep saying that, of the two power packs on the rack, one is 100% torque assist and the other is redundant. I wonder if they tested this because in their earlier interview the head Tesla engineers said that, while each power pack is capable of providing 100% necessary torque, during normal operation, they're both providing 50% requested assist.
Also, the description they gave about communications between the handwheel assembly and the rack is different than the Tesla patent. It will be interesting to see the second half of this video when they analyze the main steering ECU.

Sad to see a pc of art turned into useless junk. It good for their business, I suppose. It is way for them to copy/steel tech and profit from it.
