Connectivity and streaming lost when driving

Yesterday, when driving on I 95 through in an urban area streaming of Spotify stoped and the map displayed it had lost connectivity. The truck was unable to connect to internet for about 60 minutes of the trip. Then, spontaneously connectivity returned and music restarted playing.

Did anyone else experience an event similar to this? It occurred Feb. 26th about 5: pm.

I had the same issue around 5:30 - 6:30 EST yesterday. Phones had good connectivity, but CT had none. Stopped for dinner, and it worked fine.

I had the same issue around the same time Eastern Standard Time. Resolved with my next drive a little after 6

I had exact same issue. Would not load Audible content on my drive home, then tried my Tidal, same issue. I noticed there was not the usual LTE icon on the screen. My FSD worked fine. So for some reason, I lost the cell tower signals. Checked my phone, but no loss of signal there (but it is 5G). When I got home, I did the steering wheel hard reset, when rebooted, the issue was still there. It is working fine today though.

Mine has been giving a bad API response for some reason here and there. Resolves quickly

An update on my experience. It may be significant to report this event occurred during my first drive after installing update 2024.32.45.20

The following day after getting in the truck I noticed the Spotify streaming app displaying a problem loading error messages. I rebooted the display using the press both thumb wheels technique and the issue disappeared after the reboot completed.

There still is an issue that is similar but not exactly as you discribed. The .8 update didn't resolve it. As you leave your home network, wifi, the CT stays connected rather then converting to LTE and the display reads Network Error. You can wait a long time for this to resolve on its own or you need to turn wifi on then off for it to reset.

I had a very brief (less than a minute) glitch yesterday later than that. But it was shortly after pulling away from home WiFi causing it to connect to cellular data...which apparently didn't happen as smoothly as usual.

Insofar as it was hitting multiple people at the same time, it was likely either Tesla's cellular provider, or the Internet between there and Tesla servers, or Tesla servers.

Something hitting different people at different times could be either local cell issues or a firmware issue, I suppose.

After years of roadtripping across the country in Tesla’s, this is yet another reason I put Starlink in the truck. Their cell connectivity has never been “amazing”.
When it works, it’s good. But never amazing.
