I always wondered what "WEIGHTED" mean? Does that mean it is heavy enough that it must stop at DOT truck scales?
In NC if a vehicle weights 7,000 pounds or more the state requires you to get a weighted tag. The CT weighs less than 7k pounds but they round the GVW up to the next thousand pounds. So all CT in NC will have that type of tag.I always wondered what "WEIGHTED" mean? Does that mean it is heavy enough that it must stop at DOT truck scales?
what if a 6600 lb vehicle is toing a 3200 lbs trailer? That's 9800 but is it only commercial vehicles? In NC if a vehicle weights 7,000 pounds or more the state requires you to get a weighted tag. A vehicle that weighs 10k or more has to enter the DOT scales. So that doesn’t apply to the CT.
My understanding is under 10k pounds doesn’t have to get weighed. I don’t tow much so haven’t really looked into all their rules.what if a 6600 lb vehicle is toing a 3200 lbs trailer? That's 9800 but is it only commercial vehicles?
