Tesla Cybertruck CYBER BEAST REAR ENDED , will this get totalled or will they fix it ? 1150866920291338877
I had a side impact, thought for sure they would total it, but they disassembled it, replaced the parts and put it back together and it only took four months. It does run like new now.

Glad your OK. Yeah if they were able to repair the truck they ripped the hitch out of yours should be fine. Also the steering components that were damaged should be replaceable right Roger @CYBERTRUCKco ; )

[EDIT]
Yeah, this video above.
The rear casting can be repaired, if the damage does not intrude into the rear motor.

This is probably a $20k-ish repair job.

I had a straight forward rear-end collision situation and I believe insurance paid about $8k. Bumper, crash bars, hitch, tailgate were the main components replaced.

i am highly concerned about time frame if they decide to fix i do not want to be out of my truck for 5 months + , there was no battery warning on screen. the wheel would not turn at all. there was a piece in the truck bed wall that was handing off , ,the big steel rear quarter panel is curled up i have seen this piece alone cost 7k ? i could be wrong tailgate was trashed also a new tailgate will not have cyberbeast laser etching ... that sucks value if my truck goes down which is annoying . i hope it gets totaled out as i feel that is a much faster fix to get a new truck , im also afraid things may not be up to tesla specs if a collision repair shop puts a new rear end on ! this sucks bigtime i was at the red light my neighborhood

I had a brand new off the lot vehicle hit less than one day after ownership. Was hit hard in my parking lot while I was asleep, guy drove off and was never found. Took over a month to fix, they slowly had to pull the frame back in place since it was bent.

The reason I tell the story is it was work that cost about 65% of the vehicle's value. Insurance was happy to pay this significant repair, because it saved them 35% of the cost of a new vehicle. I wanted a new car, but it wasn't an option, because my vehicle was repairable. It sounds like you're in a similar spot.

I was coming here to post this video. The truck was designed to be modularily (not a word, but should get the point across) repaired. Everyone Talks about the amazing engineering of the cybertruck, steer by wire,48v system. But this should also be at the top of the list.
Agree saw the presentation on modularity after the rear hitch test. The parts are expensive but the truck is repairable. Keep us posted and sorry to hear about it.

Do they already have it? I think you said it wasn't drivable.
If thats the case I don't have any advice but when I had them do the deer repair I made sure they had all the parts in stock before I brought it in so it wouldn't take as long. Still was about 2 weeks.

Probably fixable, definitely would be on a conventional truck. Definitely would ask for lost value and be super critical of any driving issues after the repairs.

4 month for repairing??? In Tesla service center?

Did they give you another CyberTruck during the repairing?

Sorry this happened to you, I couldn't image that I can't drive my truck for 4 months just waiting for the repairing.

My Model X took about 3 months to fix when I was rear ended. It basically broke down to a month of insurance going back and forth with the shop deciding if it would be fixed or totaled. A month of actual repair for the majority of the work. And finally a month of ordering 1-2 pieces here and there, discovering they needed 1-2 more minor parts and repeating.

Tesla was actually really quick delivering all of the parts ordered, if the shop had been more thorough ordering what they needed, they've have shaved off a few weeks. Last parts ordered were rear tail lights, no reason those shouldn't have been in the 1st order.

Not sure if you still can, but I emailed [email protected] with my VIN and the details of the shop doing the work. They kept me apprised of every order of parts by the shop and the expected ETA for delivery.

My Model X had extensive rear end damage, the hatch and both rear quarter panels, falcon doors needed to be removed. Section of the frame needed to be cut off and replaced. $57,500 total bill. When it was fixed, you'd never have been able to tell there was an accident without a tear down, drove perfect until I got rid of it for the CT. Tesla's repair specs are excellent as long as you're dealing with a competent shop.

i just received this message from the repair collision center , but i was under the impression tesla does not fix cars ?

do you guys think this is leaning towards my truck being totaled ? or is tesla going to rebuild it ?

"I had reached out to the insurance company due to the extent of the damages on your truck and required lift to perform these specific repairs. I was under the impression they were going to call me back with information that I could update you with.
Sorry, that did not happen and you were surprised with the appointment alert.

Due to the weight of the truck and extent of damages the repairs will need to be performed at Tesla.

We do not a lift that can handle the weight of this truck and due to the damages to the suspension it will require the lift."

I called the collision center. She said that they don't have a lift strong enough to lift Cybertruck. Also, the lift that they have is located down a concrete ramp because it's an old tobacco warehouse. I'm not sure why they even sent my truck there in the first place…Or they're going to send it to another Tesla repair center in Ohio they told me so far. The damage was $19,000 and she said they probably will not total my vehicle because the low mileage and how new the car is. It has 25,000 miles on it and it's a 2024

I might consider another repair center.. This one sounds a little sketchy.

I got rear ended three months or so ago. It wasn't as bad as yours, but it was a pretty good hit. She hit me probably doing around 45-55 mph and no brakes were applied.

I took my truck to the Tesla Collison center here in Ontario California. The repair took under 3 weeks and they honestly did an amazing job. The alignment of the panels in the back is better than it was when the truck was new. I can't tell there has been any work done on it at all. These trucks are very repairable.

I don't know why you'd want to consider any collision center other than a Tesla collision center for this type of work. My local Tesla collision center is fantastic and I have seen first hand some of the work they have performed on Cybertrucks. Joe's body shop is not where you want to take this. Take it to Tesla and have it done right.
